Rear tire width max for 67 Barracuda

-
Let me throw a spanner in the gears!

Would a rear disc brake conversion affect the tire width capacity?
No - but your back spacing may change by the difference in thickness between the rotor and the original drum

and watch spacing for caliper

Could I still go for 275/60/15 on 15X8 rims with 4.5 BS if I had to use a wheel adapter to convert 5X4 to 5X4.5 ?

Anyone? Not at all excited about dropping $340 bucks on axles...help.

No you would need 5.5" backspace with a 1" wheel adapters
That would be a problem since I haven't seen 5.5" BS.
I thought it might help keep the inside away from the leaf springs even though it would push it to the fender lip. One of the other guys was using 295s

I have a set of old center lines 5 X 4.5 X 8 1/2 (or 9) wide that would be real nice once I polish them out. I also have a set of matching 5 X 4 (6" in wide) for the front. I'm only asking $275 for all four!!!!!! Now that's cheap but you gotta pay shipping!!
PS - I gotta double check the widths??? I'm in no rush so take your time.

PS _ tires are no good and will be removed!

what back spacing on the rear ?

I run 275/60/15 MT Street ST's on 15 x 7 steelies, w/4.25 BS, 1/2" spacer to keep the tires away from the SS springs.
7 inch wheels put the tire closer to the spring because of tire bulge . 3 1/2 BS with 7 inch wheels 4 1/4 with 8 inch. I have a 8"set on my Duster with 275's Small bold pattern.

Large bolt pattern is 4 1/2 or 4 /3/4 if you can find them and use a 1/8 spacer. Orange car is Big Bolt.

PLay ur cards right , u can get 295 60 d15`s under it -----

car is lowered now , tires are up in the wheel well about 1-1 1/4 , set w/ just a little rake now ----------disc brakes require a diff backspace , 4'' would be perfect on this .
