I finally get to try out my t-ram set up this weekend. Finally have this thing idling good with great throttle response. Took a long damn time. I could not for the life of me get the 1850 600s to work at all. I was going to go edey 750s but ended up going holley 650 dp carbs with profrom 750 main bodies. Changed the IABs from 73 to 55 with .028 IFRs and the MABs from 34 to 28 and 82 sq. jetted with no PVs. This tune came from a thread on another site with a very similar build to mine. I'm sure it isnt perfect but its way closer than what i had. No more loading up and fouling plugs and burning your eyes out. We'll see how it does at the track. I am very excited.
 
Whats the build ? I have a NOS W2 Holley dominator just staring at me from the shelf ...but I have barely put 20 miles on the new engine with a Victor so far . Maybe in a few years ?
 
Its a stock stroke 440 with home ported rpm heads, 10.7 comp., 272 @50 .660 lift solid cam, H-beam rods, SRP flat tops, stock steel crank. It's in a 70 challenger 3500 lbs. 5000 PTC stall with 4.30 gears. Best 1/8 is 6.49, and 10.51 1/4 with a 6.72 1/8th with a 850dp on an M1. If its cool I think there's a 10.20 in it.

Not sure why the 55 IAB. The .028 IFR is pretty close but that IAB makes the idle dead rich.

When you closed the MAB from 34 to 28 you delayed the boosters coming on, and you will be even fatter at WOT. When you delay the booster, you run out of T slot and you put a hole in the fuel curve that is hard to fill with pump shot.

If you are driving on the street, I suggest using power valves. You can drop the primary main jet WAY down to clean up cruise A/F ratio, and use the power valve channel restriction to tune for WOT on the primary side. I’d expect at least an 8.5 PV to be about right, but if you have enough gear to get the RPM up, or you can pull more than 12 inches of vacuum at idle, you can go up to a 10.5.

You should have T slot restricters of about .072-.078.

An 82 jet is on the big side for a TR with two 750’s.

EDIT: I forgot to mention of you are using billet metering blocks, you need to fix the emulsion. I haven’t seen a single billet metering block be correct out of the box.

For a TR you can use .026 holes in the top and third hole and block the second and fourth holes. If you have 5 holes, block 2,4 and 5 from the top. I don’t go over .028 on emulsion for TR’s. At least to start.

That’s a good question. I don’t know because I haven’t had the chance to do E85 yet. I’m betting @Mattax would know.

Ended up not needing them on this particular carb, thats's why they are both open.

Oh gee. I don't know about that.
I did see it discussed recently. But no personal experience.

I haven't been able to get my head around these T-slot Restrictors. Was picturing some sort of set screw that you put in the "T-Slot!:realcrazy::thankyou::D
Gee willikers with two 85 page threads on your carburetors I thought you would have had a doctrine in carburetors by now...:poke:...
 
Back in the early 80s I ran a tunnel ram on the street on a 440. Had two 390 cfm Holleys on top. Worked surprisingly well with the small carbs and definitely got some attention.
 
I don't like tunnel rams.

Made it to the track today. Car ran ok after some adjustments. 60 ft. is about a tenth slow car lays down for a second then takes off. Bigger squirters helped but didnt fix it. Car was running slow so i changed jets from 82 sq. to 80s sq. because most people thought i was fat. Not so. car lost 2 tenths and popped all the way down the track. So i went up to 84 sq. and it liked it alot it gained 2mph. and ran its qickest time 10.66 at 127.8. The air was horrible so this wasnt that bad but 60 was still .1 slow. I forgot car runs on 91 pump gas. Going to try different squirters next time and afr gauge. Squirters are now 37 front 35 back.

It may need a bigger squirter, or it may be getting on the booster too late.
