Opposing the law preventing sale of gasoline cars in California

Progress is progress, or is it sometimes merely change???? I am sure, and probably most who think of it all, that there will be viable autos that run on battery power. Maybe 18 wheelers will also, maybe. Maybe 18 wheelers will drive themselves down the highway. Farm combines already do this, although the owner is riding shotgun!
We have heard all our lives, all changes begin in Ca. The hula hoop. An ingenious invention of theirs. The skateboard? The hot rod maybe??? Or the West Coast version?
I believe even the average Californian, that is the one with brains, recognize that much of Ca. thinking about so many things is screwed up!?
Electric cars will become common, because the whole thing becomes feasible, engineering, costs, safety, need, etc.... not because some Ca. govenor decides to decree it to be!!!
 
The tail pipe will become the cigarette of the future. Tail pipe emissions will be considered damaging and socially unacceptable. The people will end gasoline vehicles not the government.
Neighborhoods will ban gas vehicles so that harmful tail pipe emissions won't waft into back yards where children are playing.
I figure we have about 7 years to enjoy our dinosaurs so get out and drive them now.
 
^^ We attended the grandson's first birthday party yesterday. Well it was fish fry and mostly just a few family members but lots of their friends in their 20's, I conted 12 kids 3 and 99% well under., toddler size. The birthday boy had his cake to put his fingers in but the other toddlers had NO cake! I asked why, wife says the milleniums mothers are against sugar for their rug rats! Go figure.'
IF milleniums that live in the burds get to decide IF my old car is bad for them, rest assured I will not be driving in their friggin burbs!!!!

then the fart will be the next cigarette....... and you'll be taxed for farting and your giant green print on the earth. If this was a joke, it's not really funny. But, LOL, it's no joke. For now, cows and cars are evil - unless they are taking you to a riot! :D

It is not a joke. Read the city of Santa Clara municipal code concerning tobacco use. You cannot smoke a cigarette in your own home. Why, because the smoke could waft to your neighbor's yard. That same code will apply to the tail pipe someday soon.
Social powers will turn on the tail pipe soon. Mark my words.
 
In the future, as I see it there will be definitive classes of citizens.
There will be the city/burban dweller than can and will submit to all this ^^^^ as mentioned above.
There will be the rural type that will not submit to all this.
One class will be free and produce food and fiber to feed the non free. That will be the basics.
Farm tractors ill run on diesel, and the city puter will be electric.
The citizens will further divide themselves into groups that cater to their groups needs and demands. Races ill tend to subregate themselves IF they continue the trend to self destruct and lawlessness. Or probably more ilkely, the lawless will tend to remain a group, and any other race will look to rid themselves of these people and the ares they inhabit!?
The future. Glad I am old.

I saw a blurb on TV about this future law. I understood it to mean any NEW car sold in Calif. after 2035 will have to be electric. China and Germany already have these laws on the books, and are being joined by other countries. I remember the screaming that went on in CT when unleaded gas was outlawed. And yet, there are a lot of classics driving around here. Same with emissions testing and 'Cash for Clunkers'. Lots of noise and discontent and misinformation.

The purpose of the 2035 law is to slow down global warming and climate change. And yet, last week the Prez made an executive order to open up our National forests in Alaska to allow roadbuilding and logging thru pristine areas of old growth forests!!! They claim the amount of trees cut will be the equivalent of adding a million cars to our highways, due to the increase in CO2. And none of us will profit from this, even though the land belongs to the American people.
There are millions [billions?] of board feet of lumber of dead trees killed by the fires out west.
Lets use them.

Remember, trees only store CO2 when they are alive. And they store even more CO2 and give off Oxygen when they are growing [spring and summer]. Without trees and plants, the earth would not have enough Oxygen for humans and animals to exist. Brazil is the worst damager of the environment as of now [Amazon Rain Forest]. Borneo, too.
 
Remember Al Gore said the internal combustion engines would Be banned in 25 years in his 1992 book? Problem with making short term predictions is when it doesn’t happen, you look stupid(er).

Yes and when he was hollering about global warming and leaving a smaller carbon footprint, his electric bill at his house was $3200.00 for that month.

which house , it was reported back than that he owned 11 , and flew gobs of people/bands , and all that go nwith them all over th world in his private jumbo jet .

Between that 7 years and the 12 AOC says we have till the world ends, doesn't leave much time!
 
Back in 1900 AD the city of Chicago had a population of 1.7 million people. To move the goods required to run the city and feed the people there was a horse population estimated at 100,000 also in the city of Chicago.
Can you imagine that pollution,,,?

Well, the way some cities are allowing people to defecate in the streets after they shoot up, I'll take the horses.
