Finally got to make passes with the new engine/combo from @IQ52

11.02 at 123mph on street tires, pump gas, full trim, full exhaust.

I really need a new convertor and I think that alone will put it in the 10's.

Shifting at 6,100 despite it making peak hp at 5900. It liked it so..

NOt geared right either anymore I'm trapping in overdrive, traping at 5300.

You should have a lot more to gain there. Definitely a possible 10.80s car!

Lord please let there be a head examination in 318willruns future if he thinks he's going to do this on $5,000....

Looks like you have 10 second speed.:thumbsup:

NEw engine, 440, Magical performer RPM heads, victor intake, roller solid, stock everything else.

Made a few other changes this year, new radiator, stand alone tranny cooling, coil upgrade.

Heads, intake, cam, lifters = 6,000$
 
I would put 2 MT Drag radials on before changing anything else. Lots of ET in the 60'. What was your 60'? You had to be spinning off the line with street tires.

I run wrinkle wall 28x10.50 sportsman pros aired down to 18psi. No spin, I have still and video of the launch. 1.67 short. My converter is killing me though. Engine makes peak torque at 4500 and i'm launching at off idle flashing to 3500

Oh yeah, get a good converter and that thing will fly....and you will find the limits of those sportsman pros....
 
Hey congrats on a new best and future new bests. What was your 1/8 mile times?
 
Purdy cool man! Well make them changes and get r in the 10s.
 
Curous if you guys think i'd be beter off going through the traps in OD with my 4.56's at 5300 or swapping to 4.10's and going 6100 in 3rd?

Either way it is getting a new convertor
 
shifts generally cost time. fewer shifts the better

If it's making peak HP up around 6K that's where I'd want to go through the lights.

6100......plus whatever the converter slips.

That’s probably the route I’d go.

Looks like the OD ratio is about .78??

My old 448 with heavy TRW’s and LY Rods would run about 6600-6800 out the back...... depending on the air.
