We added a full leaf to the rear suspension of the '65 Formula S (now have seven-photo #1). The rear end is now noticeably higher (photo #3) than the stock attitude (stock photo #2). Currently, the front suspension is up against the rubber stops with the engine/transmission not installed. I am curious how the vehicle will handle with the stock front suspension (factory roll bar) and the beefed up rear suspension once it is all put back together. I hope it will not be bouncing around all over the place. Anyone else try this?

Absolutely no way to tell until you get it weighted....drivetrain tank of gas, everything

I LUCKED out on my 67. Redneck. Cheap. Backyard. I junked another A, took both sets of springs apart, and rebuilt them with the longest leafs of both sets. I think I had 1 or 2 more leafs when done, than original. The thing worked out perfect, maybe a "bit" too stiff.

I also lucked out, some big aftermarket (unknown) T bars out of a parts car.

You don't, generally, want the rear "high" for handling on these girls. You will likely soon find you want more front T bar, and an ANTI SWAY bar should be on EVERY car.

You'll probably be good. Years ago I put a half leaf (front section only to elimate some wheel hop and get better traction without to stiff of a ride) worked out well.

I did the same thing to my 65 Formula S. It sits a little higher than I prefer in the rear. I plan on installing slightly larger torsion bars this winter. Car handles amazing well currently. 65'
