Hello, what I have here today is a pair of brake drums for a 1970-1972 A Body’s. These are in real nice shape with still red paint on the face of the drums. Lug stud holes are not hogged out and no cracks to be seen. These are not available new and these don’t come up for sale often.
Thanks for looking.

$175.00 shipped to the lower 48 states.

I’m in Simi Valley CA. I prefer PayPal friends and family. Please do all your homework before you purchase. I have been playing with Mopars for over 30 years but sometime I’m wrong when it comes application. All prices are OBO, talk to me, I’m sure we can make some sort of deal.

What is their current id?
Do they have enough meat on them to be turned?

Hello and thanks for asking. I do not see a maximum dia measurement on the outside of the drum. These drums appear to be 10.010 +/-. Normally you can go .060 to .075. These came off a running driving car with no issues.

You can be in the ballpark and I’m sure I’m in the ballpark.

Being that these are the bell style drum I don’t think even a correct measuring tool could fit in there. I’m sure these would clean up just fine.

I believe 10.090 is discard diameter. If I can't turn them and keep them under 10.060, they go to the scrap bin. I have the proper Aamco drum mic.

Well ok then, thanks for the advice.

How about $160.00 shipped to the lower 48 states.

Thanks for looking, Troy

Hi there I'm interested. If you could look on the outside dia. the discard size will be there. Just use a wire brush and a crayon.

I will check again this after noon. Thanks for asking.

Thanks, please put me first in line.

Here is what I have found. I wired wheel one of them and there is no discard measurement that I can find anywhere. I agree that there usually is one . It’s usually casted into the drum but I see nothing. All the drums I have ever seen have been between .060 and .090 is the Max. I took these to a shop and they measured them for me and this is what I have found. One drum is .043 out and the other is .047 out. These could be turned at least one more time and maybe even two times as long as somebody does not hog them out in one pass so they can go to lunch.
I don’t want to wire wheel the second drum because the paint pattern is so nice and clear that if somebody is doing a true factory restoration this one has a nice original pattern and color.
This is the best I can do.....I have done everything that I can so there you go!! LOL!!

I’ve got to pull a rear wheel on the wife’s car tomorrow so I’ll check hers out. I’ll let you know first thing in the morning or maybe the second thing. lol

There red if you have a Rallye or a Magnum wheel. If you had a Dog Dish or full hub cap are is no paint on them.

I got them off and I can't find a spec on them either. Called the few auto part stores that still turn drums and they have no specs for them.

As I said.
I have always heard between .060 and .090. Either way these are well under that spec. I will be putting these on eBay shortly if your not going to purchase them. Just want to let you know.

Troy

Thanks. I just don't want to take the chance if they are 060 as I've had to cut a lot off when they get out of round. Sure wish I could find my old spec. sheet.

Ok, this is my last price cut. $135.00 shipped to the lower 48 states.
