just been freshening up my 493 and the cam rolled off the bench and snapped like a carrot:mad:. it was 580 lift with 1.5 ratio. i have a 590 shaft i am thinking of putting in.
combo is 493 rb, 11.6 cr, brodix b1bs heads max wedge port, eddy super victor intake, 1050 dominator, built 727, 4000 stall, 3200 lb car, 29" tire, 4.11 gears.
what are your guys thoughts on this cam in this combo. TIA:thumbsup:
 
Should work with your existing springs since the lift is roughly the same. How does the duration compare between the 590 and your old cam?
 
I’ve ran that cam in a .030 over 440 11.5 motor ! I really liked that cam ! I ran 10.90 1/4’s in a 71 b body ! Heavy old car

I think ur very lucky that the cam rolled off and broke , had to be a cast cam , sounds like it ad a flaw in it too , imagine what it would have done to ur engine if it let go >--------------jmo
