Where you see the stud I will be putting a small gold coin
It is a cyclic grip off a 1966 Huey uh1 helicopter sorry for the xtra pics couldn’t get rid of them
I was fantasizing about a bad *** Dart

I was a door gunner & crew chief on a UH-1H gunship during the Viet Nam era. Great machines, they don't fly "They beat the air into submission". As an old commanding officer once told me.

That will be a very cool shifter handle! I like the scenery and fireplace as well. Just glad it wasn't a candid pic of you and your lady !!! I think you can go back and edit the picts out ??

The crew chief was the boss and I gratefully kissed their asses. Don’t get any ideas. Lol
Thank you for your service

As a crew chief, I was not immune to whatever needed to be done on our ship. After 2 tours, I was glad to come back to "The World" for my reserve duty.

Your welcome
When I was showing my *** I would put just enough lift in the blades to get the loudest wop wop I could. I got into trouble once a full bird colonel was giving a briefing
And I flew over wop woping and yes there was a young lady there that I was desperate to impress

I'm sure Dreamland or the other agencies have negated &/or changed all of those protocols. Probably as soon as the crash was reported. In my civilian life, I spent 3 years in Cheyenne Mountain & saw things that the public would never believe. Of course I am sworn to secrecy & can never reveal anything I saw, or worked on.

At this point I would believe anything

I really hate to rain on such a great looking idea. but,
Before I would go thru all that trouble, I would put the shifter in third, and mock it up to see where my knuckles will be, when I ram that gear home.
And I would also try reverse.
If you can't find enough room, then you will have to bend the stick. But then you better put it in first and fourth to see how awkward that might be.
You might have to shorten the stick. But if you have a bench seat ...................
Then there's the fatigue issue.
After a day of just tooling around, nothing is easier on the wrist and forearm, than a plain ol' ball. You can shift those from the top, the bottom, and/or the side. You can full-grip it, half-palm it, or knuckle-ball it. You can two finger it, or palmslap it. There's just so many ways to shift a ball.
I really hope it works out well for you , cuz it looks killer.
