your dash looks great! i just purchased one of PG Classic repro dashes. i haven't received it yet but it's due to arrive any day now. i need two more for two other cars i have. i have a couple of nice non-broken or cut OEM bezels that i would like to get restored. how long did it take for Vacuum Orna Metal to do your dash? were you satisfied with the experience/transaction/final product?

Many of the original bezels are sagged/warped along the upper brim line. How they attached the plastic to the metal plate just wasn't enough. I tried to straighten mine before I sent it for rechrome. Didn't get it perfect, only better. I assume a new reproduction bezel would be straight and line up to the dash pad very nice ( for a while anyway ).

Some of the repops have quality control issues and I have seen many complaints, but also seen people who like them. Some people rather restore an original than buy China made but they can be hard to find in good usable shape.....I personally would restore an original one.

I have seen the originals warp too...I’m not sure if the repops come with that metal plate on them

I dont think a reproduction bezel includes the top plate. I've sold and shipped 2 to members here.

My dad had all his 1966 Barracuda plastic armrest bases, dash bezels and parts rechromed 25+ years ago at Mr. G’s and they look awesome yet, like they were just done....but I don’t think that place isn’t around anymore though.

My face plate was warped and the end between the lighter hole and where the screw secure hole is was broken off. Vacuum Orna-Metal fixed all of that even though there was still some slight warping along the top but once I installed the metal top piece and secured it to the dash it looks just fine. In answer to your question of how long they had mine, just short of three months. Frank who owns the place took me on a tour and there were dash bezels of every kind all over the place and from every car you can think of. If I ever need to do another one it will defiantly go back to Frank, he has my arm rest bases right now.

Good to know! Eventually I’ll need to have the ones in my 70 Swinger 340 done and that sounds like a good place, I have a perfect core too! Thanks
