I have a pair of stock covers for a 1969 290 AMC. Fits all AMC V8s. Looks like they have blasted and let surface rust.
If you can use them $25 + the ride from FL, with PayPal. Good condition.

I am the same, not much knowledge. I have a 72 Ambassador wagon that was originally a 401 car and now has a 360 in it, but I want to find a 401 to put back in it. I have no idea if the valve covers are different between the two or different years like they are with Mopars.
 
valve covers pictured will bolt on but may not be the "exact" ones. the tag on the end should be able to give you some info as to the original application.
 
I have a friend who is an AMC expret ! He say's any 290 all the way up to the 401. I sent him a pic of the tag, he will try to tell what it came off. I think the same guy that used to stamp all the mopar # must have worked at AMC also. Can't read them !

My friend say's 1969 290 4 barrel from the #s on it. Will fit all V8s
