Took my Indy SR heads to the porter yesterday. He is a new guy i’m trying out. 9 hour driving time there and back. He is gonna flow them b4 and after. They are standard port now. He is opening them up to Max Wedge ports. He will do a valve job also and set them up. He is gonna vapour clean them. They won’t look like shinny aluminum anymore. Pretty dull looking actually. He says he will start on them next week. I’m hoping for the best. Kim

Cool.
Why wouldn't you want them shiney?
Are you going to paint them to be somewhat stealth looking?

Rob, I’m not sure. But I think it may be a heating/baking thing. It was a fair sized box type thingy. Kim

Please post pictures of them after. First time I've heard of it.

When I grow up, I want to be just like Kim. Hey, wait a minute, I am grown up! In fact, I'm as old as the hills! Well, I guess that will never happen.

If its like the one we had in the Engineering Lab back in the 80's it is like a vapor hot tank. Worked very well, super clean. I would be tempted to scrub them down with soapy water before I tried to paint them.

Tom, I did but I guess this is all the rage now. I asked about painting them but he said no body he knows has painted them yet. Kim
Mmmmkay.
I would love to see a pic of them when they are finished, Kim.

Here is a few pics. Quite a difference in port size from standard port to Max wedge. Kim

Sure would have been nice to have a before and after flow diff. on the standard to max ports .
I love that burr finish. Whoever did the grinding has a very good hand. Very nice work, and a lot of it.
He said he would have 40 hours into them. He only has the use of 1 arm. That’s why he is called strong arm. Kim
