Long story short I had the engine rebuilt by a local. This person's having some financial/logistical difficulty outside of thier control and will not be able to redo the oil pan and rear main. It drips.

I don't have the time or space to pull it myself. All local shops here refuse to work on it.

I just want this thing to stop dripping. Local suggestions?

Too bad you didn't say chicago area, cuz if you had I'd have offered to help. But all the cool cars like that have been eaten by the road salt monster around here

Surely there is a local car club that you could contact for help.

They have a one piece main for a hemi that will fit the slant now. you have to split one side and then it can be placed around the sealing journal and tucked into the block receiver for a better than stock seal.

Where in the bay area are you? My shop is in Vallejo. Foreign Car Center if you wanna look it up. Just a father/son shop that's been around for 43 years.

I looked at a couple of places online for that seal. I can't find a price or how/where to get, even when I look up that company.

Prior to this engine being rebuilt i did swap the rear main and pan myself but, the crank was HEAVILY pitted on the crank sealing area. When i did it that time i put in a Hemi/RB viton rear main that was 2 piece. also leaked like a sieve . That's when i deiced to do a new crank and a rebuild

I sure hope you didn't see Lance at CA. Street Machines in Fairfield, you may have bigger problems to deal with??? I'm just glad I don't live there anymore! Good Luck

No, wasn't there. I'm not posting who as the issues would otherwise be solved if it were not 100% out of the persons control.

Maybe contact Doug Dutra? Think he lives out that way.
Good suggestion normally, but since he lost a bunch in the Glass fire last year-- tools, parts, a few cars, etc I dunno what he is currently able to do as far as wrenching goes.

This place will do the job for you and do it right.

Remember your area has the highest salaries, taxes, and environmental fees in the country. You will not find a shop to do this job for a couple hundred bucks.

Have you called Clark's auto repair and machine shop in Cupertino? They used to be pretty good, but I haven't had a need to use them in years though.

Really? I know that C(r)ook County IL has the highest sales tax in the country This is the County that includes Chicago. and always talking about even more increases.
IL is neck and neck with CA for "highest taxed residents in the whole US".... They just upped license fees for cars ANOTHER $50, and light utility trailers went from $18 to $118 in one fell swoop..... I can register ALL of my vehicles in Indiana, for what Illinois gouges me for ONE.
