Has anyone successfully used 255/50-17s at all 4 corners on their Duster or Dart Sport?

I'd like all four of the same size tires - 245/45-17s will work for sure (based on a huge amount of data from 72bluNblu and others) but, to me, the sidewall seems a tad short. The general thought is if one uses at least a 17x8 wheel with 19mm offset (5.25"), you can use the 245-45-17s - a 25.7" tall tire. I'd like a little taller sidewall - even a slightly taller tire - but I don't think a 27" tall tire (255/50-17) will work in the front without rubbing. Any real world experince here?

Thanks all!

way to big for the front , 225/50/17 rubbed on the lower front fender on mine

I have 235/45/17 and I had to trim my finders.

I have 225/50R17 on the front with 17x7 with 4.25 inch backspace. Front-end suspension is mostly aftermarket with QA tubular K-member, UCA's and Tierods. With PST torsion bars and reinforced stock LCA's with a QA1 sway-bar.
And 255/50R17 on the rear with 17x8 with 4.5 inch backspace. All stock rear.
No issues on the rear.
There is a slight momentary rubbing in the front only during turning while hitting a bump.
*On the second photo the front end looked a little high because it wasn't quite settled, it's actually slightly lower than that. Because I took this picture right after I lowered the jack.*
