Off today, so asked a buddy if he wanted to go fishing. He pondered as he was just coming off 12hr midnight shift. He was glad he did, it was slow(for me) up to that point. He caught 1 walleye and about 5 bass. I only had 2 bass. Then he got his musky. 9 lb 14 oz. Awesome fight and a personal best for him with musky. Dan's caught an 11lb walleye before. Great fight and great time!
He got to gloat for an hour.....till I caught mine 14lb 9oz. Amazing fight and beautiful fish. No leaders for either of us lol.
Great day and 2 personal bests shared together!:thumbsup:

Congratulations...Very nice, I've only caught northern pike , I'd love to get a muskie on one day but there's only 1 lake 150 miles away that may or may not have them.
 
We hadn't set out for Muskie, we fish for "whatever" and enjoy the day. This is only my 2nd or 3rd Muskie.
We are blessed where we live (Kawartha Lakes area) that theres literally 20 lakes in a 30 min radius.
I'm happy as long as " the boat" gets fish, but 2 PB's on same day was great, cherry on top was besting him lol

Awesome Steve. A bad day fishing beats a good day at work every time. A good day fishing can’t be beat!

Good thing after eating it for the 1st time last month we have sturgeon just 80 miles away.
When I set out to catch a specific fish it never goes as planned, except rivers & salmon
 
Thanks, funny cuz I had an 8" wire leader on earlier and it "broke" right where it clipped onto my lure, so lost a $15 Reefrunner. Dan said to skip the leader and just use a snap. So tied snap on, and clipped direct to this old Lucky Strike. I bought this lure used last year as i had one very similar that I lost when I had either a muskie or pike on and tried to horse him in too quick and snapped my line.
Line was PowerPro braid. 20lb test I think

I wish I could get motivated to do the things I like to do. I haven’t been fishing, shooting, or racing this year. Man I’m in a rut. Fall is a great time for all three of those things.
 
Congrats for sure! I used to do a lot of largemouth fishing and would occasionally catch a Muskie by accident.Never anything big but those 5 pounders would break water 4 or 5 times and be airborne a couple of feet on occasion. Whenever i tried to catch them i couldn't!
