So I heard it said before, dogs have masters and cat's have servants
I'm pretty sure my cat thinks he let's me live with him .
So he is very sweet in the morning ( aside from screaming at me for food )
After he eats he wants to be naughty and scratch the furniture. Then he wants to go outside. In the evening he is all sweet when I get home. ( accept screaming at me and pretty much pushing me out of his way to get through the front door for food.)
Then he wants to be naughty and scratch the furniture. Bedtime he finds me often and let's me know it is time to rest.
Such a small animal and he totally can hog lots more of the bed then you can imagine !
Makes himself comfortable and wants me to adjust.
Oh of coarse I love him and he is sweet !
Yet I have to laugh and think of narcissistic behavior and the similarities.
What do you think ?

I think you're lucky you're not a small animal or they probably just chew off your limbs and watch you die slowly. I guess there lucky we're not all more like cats.

^^
Funny you should mention that.
Twice in the past week my cat had mice.
I ended up helping the mice out of their misery.
He tortures them relentlessly!

My cats are cute furry snugglbunnies until I start seeing critters too close to the house or in cars. Then we go from cuddly bunnies to kitty finding himself drop kicked to the yard with an empty food bowl.

I don't have time for critter problems so I'm not going to mess around. When its clear and clean, we can be cuddly buddies again.

I find they get ineffective in service after their 10th birthday. I try to retire them to homes where they will be full time indoor cats after retirement.
Three times, I've had cats past 10 years and they are slow and they get pesky and whiney and the critters take advantage.

I have replaced and retired two, who are indoor cats now. The third one was too slow and got taken out by fox which was the eye opener of the ineffectiveness of old cats.

We are currently in a transition of training some new guys, because gritty kitty turns 10 next summer.

That's right, just kick um to the curb when they get old. I hope no one ever does you like that.

I have a 15 year old and a 4 year old.
No plans to kick them to the curb.
Just make them house cats if your concerned about saftey.

its quite simple
the egyptians used to worship cats, and cats never forgot that

Cats are creatures of habit.
You just have to give him something to do after food to break the scratching territory marking cycle.

Most often my cats retirement ends up either others take them in and don't let them out ?
Or they become food.
I have only seen the life of one expire.
He was my absolute best friend !
Lola my daughter thought Lola was a she and well he was not a she !
He was a sealpoint manx.
They call them dog cats.
He died in my arms at 12 I believe?
Oh it was one of the most difficult things for me to handle !
All my cats are whistle trained .
Lola would be at the door every morning and every night.
He would spoon with me .
It was so funny !
He would flop down and want you to lay with him.
He was so cool !
I buried him in an old pair of my carharts.

Of coarse I would tease him and sing the Kinks song Lola to him.
He would drool when he was all comfy.
My I miss him !
I would have a dog , but cats are simple .
Less responsibility!

Your Cat just read this & said, "Hmmpf! Who does this Guy think He is?", lol!

I have a cat that is totally my dog, he follows me around the yard, every once in a while he'll bring back a toy I throw for him but he always goes after my throws. He greets me everyday when I get home. He was a stray that started showing up about this time last year & after about a month of talking to him telling him it's okay I tried to pet him and it turned into him petting my hand. I guess he never had human contact couple weeks later he climbed up onto the roof and started meowing at the window & we let him in. I love this cat 100% from that day but he has to live upstairs with my wife and I at night or the *** whoopings start on the other 5 now I brought in another kitten last week & she's a little 6ish month old but she may be able to hold her own. 3 of the others could care less that we feed & house them, they were wild last year too

Yeah Yoda is like that too follows me outside.
As well as Lola .

Authorities are looking for someone who abandoned 9 cats...

When caught, they will be charged with littering.... :D

That's not what having pets as companions is about...

Living on a farm we call the cats organic rodent control devices. And they always get super cool names. We have yellow cat, ran over with tractor, gray cat, got tangled up with an owl (lost) and now we have black cat. He is right at 12 years old and blind as a bat. Somehow he has wrangled his way indoors and seems to be a permanent fixture on wife’s lap. Hemi tolerates him to a point. On a farm we have always had barn cats they are important.

That part was a joke but people here can't take a joke when they think you are being cruel for letting an animal do what they are on earth to do.

I believe cats really are the best animal on earth but it also serves a purpose and cuddles just as well which is why they are the best. I don't abuse them but post them where I need their services.

Well I guess as long as you don't find them homes at the local Chinese Restaurant that's a plus.
