Hello everyone,
Can anyone tell me exactly where the sending unit for oil pressure is and the sending unit for water temp is?

Its a 71 340 plymouth. I have an idea but would like to double check with everyone.

Thanks

Oil should be top rear pass side of engine near distributer. (The one pictured is for oil gauge not idiot light)

Top is idiot light, bottom is guage sender

Water is top front pass side of intake manifold

There are two different oil pressure senders. The larger can type is for a gauge and the smaller type for idiot light.

If your a-body has a warning lamp for oil pressure, that sender is a bit smaller than the sender for a oil gauge. Either way, the connecting terminal that goes on that sender is/was rarely insulated. This caused different problems with the different models. Aftermarket does offer a insulated terminal like found on the later models. Sorry I could provide a link to this item. Can't explain why it took Chrysler soooo long to correct this. Anyway... Its coins well spent. I've seen copper traces blistered off of inst' panel circuit boards due to short circuits to ground in the engine bay. Oil warning lamp operates on 12 volts. Oil gauge operates on gauge voltage limiter like the temp gauge and sender.
They put a nice booted terminal on the temp sender but dropped the ball at the oil sender. We don't have to deal with the BS they put out there 50 years ago. We have the history and the internet. Happy moparing
