I can rebuild trannys and engines but I can't remember how to attach my bucket seats ('68 cuda) to their track. I have restored the tracks and the front two mountings are 5/16" studs w/ nuts. The rear two have a square hole- what goes in there to attach the rear of the bucket seat? I must have lost something that goes in there. Thanks for the help.

should b same as the front ones --------

If you are attaching track to seat, the seat frame has a nut welded in. The 5/16 bolt used here is special though. First had undersize hex head so a socket would fit in the track. Later were round/truss head phillips drive. 1 inch long I think.
Allen/hex drive socket head screw might work but may need a washer since that head is smaller diameter.

Not to hi jack Murray's thread but noticed my seat tracks were bastardized also.
Does anyone know who can restore these seat tracks?
I know they can be tricky.

Additional info- dug out the buckets for closer inspection. Front mounting holes in seat frame are definitely for stud and nut in my base. The rear mounting in my buckets have a captive nut to accept a bolt but the hole in the base is square ( 5/16"). A short bolt will fit- but a square hole? Would appreciate any input, thanks.

The same piece of track is used turned around other way with a stud in that hole. Thats why both holes are square.
Standard 5/16 bolt has a 1/2 hex head. You can't get a wrench or socket on it in the track.
