CNC machined Six Pack air cleaners

-
We are working on a price- trying to keep the machine time down to keep the costs as low as we can. Right now it looks like $699 per set of 3, hope to do better if we can. We will firm that up once the final machine code is complete. And we can do some customizing with either the CNC or our laser etching system. So we can put on almost anything you can think of such as your name, etc and the extra cost would be based on how much time is needed to set up the machine. I am thinking of etching "340 Six Pack" on my center carb top plate.

Speaking of selling these- I have measured hood clearance on my Dart- the front air cleaner is the closest point to the hood and it has 3/8" clearance. I have a torque strap so I think that's going to be plenty of clearance for me- the engine is not going to torque over when I drop the clutch. It may be necessary to tell everyone to use a torque strap- I don't know how much engines without a strap will move so that 3/8" may be fine or it may be too little.

Please keep the comments coming!

What's the expected timeframe for these to be ready to produce? I may have missed that.

As you probably guessed we have not set a time frame yet, we are still finalizing the design. Once we call it "finalized" we can start producing them right away. I would like to have finished top plates to show everyone before we call it "final" and it would be great to do that this week, that's why I posted the rendering of the top plate. I should have milled top plates to show later this week or early next week.

In other words- we can begin making them within a week or so if there's a demand for them. A small production run would take a few days.....

Excellent, now I need to go sell a bunch of parts!

My father has a 440 6 pack E-body Cuda. He would love this air cleaner set up. Do you know if these air cleaners will fit under the hood of an E-body Cuda?

Hi everyone, here are the latest pictures with the correct spacing on the center carb. I expect there will be one extra set available the end of next week if anyone is interested. We are waiting for filters to arrive. I’ll post contact information when available.

We don’t have a 440 E body to test but shortly I’ll post the instructions so you can see dimensions. It’s not too difficult to measure your existing clearance to see if these will fit.

Here's a draft instruction set that may be useful information. Any feedback greatly appreciated, we tried to answer any questions that may arise but could have missed some.

For those thinking about getting a set of these, the material stock has arrived and we plan to get them into the production schedule as soon as possible. We had hoped to be in production before Christmas and it may still happen.....

The web site does not yet show the set but that is under development too.

Real nice job! I am very interested. Will the lid finish/machining pattern on each of the 3 air cleaners be the same? A top view photo of that finish would be of interest to me. Thanks.

The instructions pictures need to be updated, here’s a better shot I think. Please ask if you have questions.

There is a small lip around the top edge and the rest shows machine lines that are within a thousandth in height. I hope that helps.

Yes they do- you should gather as much info on them as you can. We decided to do our own billet machined instead…..

I see absolutely zero reason these would not fit under the hood of most any stock Mopar. I'm not into billet anything, but I must admit, they look really nice.

There holidays slowed us down, apologies to those interested. Happy New Year everyone!

This week two sets will be coming off the CNC. If the filter elements arrive, then the sets will be available to buy. I’ll post when they are ready with the info on how to get.

Thanks for your interest!

Update: I know it’s been a long time but today there are 3 sets ready to go minus wing nuts- we decided to make our own wing nuts and those should be ready tomorrow. If you want a set they should be shippable next week. I’ll provide contact info next week.

what do the wing nuts look like. And size high and wide?
I may want some for my MR. Norm air cleaner ( Made by Segal) Designed originally for Corvette, and used by Mr Norm.
I assume that since you are planning on later on you are going to make one piece ovals you will do some similar to them less the backwards Tri-Power just Finns.
Here's a few pics since others posted theirs.
One is just dropped in and other is all done with a 1969 B Body air cleaner just set in place for pics.

The wing nuts we are making are 0.300" tall and approximately 1" in diameter. Actually we should be calling them Thumb Nuts. Here is a link to the ones I used on the prototypes: McMaster-Carr and if you look in that catalog you can find some that are 1/4" tall. I'll post when they are done- our machine operator was out for 5 days with covid...so we are behind again. It is very frustrating, these should have been done a month ago.....

Great pics! Looks really professional under that hood!!
