Snowstorm .

Live 5 miles outside of Buffalo. They got about 18 inches in the city, and we got a dusting. Snow come off the lake and just drops on the city and south towns. Seven feet in 36 hours a few years ago. Traveled into city day after 18 inches and streets were fine.
Are you in the north towns? My buddy in the Ken-Ton area missed all of that snow back in 2014.

Yeah, north of Buffalo .. we sometimes get pounded off Lake Ontario, but that's rare. Even in the city sometimes the south end would get buried, and north side wouldn't get any. In the blizzard of '77 I was living in the south towns and passed through a toll booth about 4 miles from the city center and they told me to turn around and go back home. Me, of course, didn't listen because the sun was shinning, and I was young and an idiot. A few miles down the thruway it was as if someone turned the lights off. Car got towed and didn't find it for weeks. Spent a few nights with a friend, :) .. wasn't all bad.

57 and sunny in Topeka today, but there is a 70% chance of light snow on Saturday. All the Crazies will be out.

Good, ice is awful
....and usually what we get when frozen stuff is involved.
I believe it has to do with the Piedmont Plateau region. If we were on the northern edge instead of the southern edge, we'd see more snow. As it is, we usually get the ice end of it IF we see anything frozen at all.

Same with the gnats in the summer. If we were south of the Piedmont Plateau southern border, we'd be ate up with gnats in the summer and we are not. In fact, Georgia is well known for a "gnat line" and that's right where it is, is that southern border of the Piedmont Plateau. That line is about from Augusta, through Macon and over to Lagrange.....but a bit farther south along the same general line. I knew a guy that owned a farm just outside Perry, Georgia years ago. Had over 100 acres pecan farm. We say "pee-can". Anyway, there was a line on his property where you could walk and instantly start gettin ate up by gnats. Walk back a ways and no gnats. You could even see them. It was just the weirdest thing. There's also a fault line that runs that same general path as well, so there's a lot of geographical evidence to back it up. Cool stuff.

ok we got another 42cm friday night and saturday i'm starting to run out of room . -16 tonight nice night for my walk .

Okay, RRR, caught an episode of Law and Order. A very elegant actress with a southern accent appeared, can not think of her name. Jane (?)

We got off a little luckier than you this time Aaron. I figure we got about 25cm here at the house. Lots of drifting though. It's minus 21 here as I type this.

Woke up to about 18" this morning and wind to go with it. Coffee is hot, eggs are done, toast is ready, and that **** can wait till I'm ready. Which, in all probability, will be tomorrow. :) There are those that are out there now. :mob: I know they are retired, and have no need of doing it right now. I'm just not one of them. :):)
