The two big males are always separated since they got into a big fight, yesterday the big male,Hobo, slipped past me and attacked the other big male,Zeus, i couldn't separate them and could only let them fight it out. Both came out bloodied but it looks like Zeus took a worse beating.
I finally got him into the house because we have some pretty cold weather here in GA., he's in a spare bedroom/hobby room, he's laying on his side on a big dog bed but won't move, hasn't moved all night. This morning i had to hold a small bowl of water for him to drink, got a can of salmon and tried to feed him, no luck. He does wag his tail and will raise his head a little to lap the water, there's no way i can pick him up or move him, he's over 100 pounds. This is the dog i rescued from being chained to a doghouse 24/7 for years, he's not aggressive and gets along with the 4 other pups, man I hate losing him, he finally has a shot at a decent life. Any thoughts/experiences?

Call your vet, explain the situation and they may know someone that can come help or help move him. Local animal rescue might have a volunteer or two willing to help also.

Please don't just let him die.

I'll do everything in my power and spare no expense to save him, i just wonder if he's given up, saving his strength, recuperating, or what he's thinking. He wags his big old tail up and down when i go in to see him. I had to cup water in my hand and hold it under his mouth for him to lap, he was pretty thirsty, won't eat yet.

Isn't there a 24 hour vet around you somewhere? I'm in Stockbridge if you want I can drive out there and help you get him to the vet. I'll PM you my number call anytime.

Do a search for a vet that makes house calls. They're out there, you just have to look for them.
Best of luck and good thoughts for your buddy.

Wagging tale is good.
Maybe Zeus is suffering from what all creatures go through when they get their butt whooped.
Either way I'd get him to the vet for a checkup.

Know any local farmers? Ask them for a vet’s contact info that they would call for a sick cow or horse.

He might just be tuckered out, too.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions, just came back from the emergency vet hospital, just have to get him there.
He went through a heartworm routine some months back and they told me the heartworms had already damaged his lungs, he's really not supposed to exert himself to much, but i have seem him run and bark at people and trucks.
I might have two people coming over to get him in the truck, we'll see.
Thanks again all.

Once and if Zeus recovers, he needs another home, him or Hobo. This will happen again. If Zeus recovers.
Positive thoughts for Zeus.

Some positive news!!!
I've been in and outta the room where he's resting, went in about 10 minutes ago and he was really wadding his tail.
Slantflat over in Stockbridge and I were talking and he gave me a great idea, Zeus has a special red leash that i use to bring him and take him out, Mike suggested getting the leash and see if he would react to it, he did, he kinda stumbled to his feet and i got him outside, took a epic pee and went into his house, i warmed up the salmon and was able to hand feed him some. He'll be coming back in before dark, not outta the woods yet, but i'm feeling much better about the situation, he'll still be heading to the doc.
Once again, thanks for all the replies and concern!

My husky got tore up by our neighbor’s four boxers. We took her to the vet to get her ears sewn up, and other spots. Got her pain medicine for all the bruising and puncture wounds she got. She died the next day, vet says that a blood clot did her in. That really sucked.

Damn ! sorry

Dont fail zeuz again.

That was a failure on your part.

Hobo would be just that...no place for an aggressive dog in a family home.
Almost cost a rescue dog its life.

My current rescue Rhodesian Ridgeback ("Red") has a couple of scars from an aggressive male in a past household.
I got him from the original breeder when he was just a little over two years old. I'm his third owner.
His previous owner didn't tell the breeder he wanted him to hunt pigs with. He returned him to the breeder claiming he wouldn't hunt, but the big reason was he had another Ridgeback he'd had for years and the older dog was the Alpha and picked on mine.
The story I got from the breeder was one day the older dog attacked Red and my guy decided he'd had enough. He grabbed the older Ridgeback by the throat, threw him to the ground and just held him down without doing any damage. The previous owner decided he needed to get rid of Red so returned him to the breeder.
I've had him now for three years and he's just a big (105 pound) lovable goofball.

Oh yeah, the breeder said the "hunt gene" doesn't kick in until sometime between two to three years old.

Continuing good thoughts for Zeus. Please keep us informed.

Sorry to hear about your dogs, I had a big Malamute Golden retriever mix that got out and pinned under a car came home pretty busted up I felt so bad because I wasn't financially into position to do much for him at the time I gave him a room of his own and water and food told him buddy we're just going to have to play this one out he was in the room for 2 days before he came out maybe three but he pulled out of it and was just fine after a couple of weeks. He was in good shape. Best luck with your dog.

My neighbors four boxers would have died from lead poisoning. They wouldn't have been my first.....

Years ago I use to take my Husky puppy to the local dog park in hopes of socializing him... What really happened is he got attacked by a couple Boxers... I said something to the owner & he tells me it's part of a puppy growing up.... Eight months later my Husky has gotten much bigger & much stronger... He picks a fight with the guys boxers & shreds one of them pretty good, the other one runs off... Guy threatens to shoot my dog... I told him it's just part of dogs getting older & let him know that if he wants to shoot my dog he'd best be behind cover cause I don't shoot dogs...

Awful sorry about this. I'm glad he seems to be perking up, but I would still get him to a vet.

"Damn Ward, think Your being a little hard on the Beaver"
Walk a mile in my shoes buddy, i have 6 pups, 5 rescues, i do the best i can.
Ya don't know me, ya don't know my situation, so judge not least ye be judged.

Lol, funny "Wally" agreed with you.
Like I said before, you got lucky. As much as your actions may have been noble, you took Zeus from a neglected environment and brought him to a hostile environment.
As much as you dont want to be judged, you open yourself up for criticism posting anything on the internet.
I hope you get Zeus to a vet, wishing the best for Zeus.
