Anyone running these Headers

-
The center collector looks problematic esp. with power steering. I have a stainless pair just like them and decided to go with full length Dougs. Factory truck/van manifolds have this design.

If you don’t want to spend $$ for TTI or Dougs, Hooker and Hedman have full length headers that will work with some “adjustments”. They hang lower than normal but if your car is higher than factory ride height clearance may be ok. Or just look for shorties with the driver side collector near the firewall.

Like I said just curious if someone had them on their Abody. I have factory 340 Manifolds. I would probably go TTI or Dougs if I did make the plunge.

The center dump on the driver side dumps right into everything. I pulled some off of a ‘68 barracuda, and the Down pipe basically killed any gains gotten from the header. And that was a floor shift automatic car.

the headers ended up getting coated and installed on my D100!

Just curious if anyone has run these on their A-body.

They will fit both early and late As, but the #1 tube has to be relocated where it enters the collector and put into the bottom of the #5 tube. There was a member here with a early A that made them fit and had them re plated. I think he later sold them, but they fit and functioned well from what I remember. They will not fit as is with power steering.

All of the above was on an early car, so I cannot speak about the later. The fitment guide says they fit, but we all know how that goes.

I have them on my 72 Scamp...if I had it to do over again, I'd have bought the Doug's or TTI. Positives, they do fit with power steering, no issue there. But the gaskets suck to change and you'll need to do some fabbing to make it all go together...
