Hello! I achieved the dream, and just purchased a 1972 Plymouth duster! I'm getting ready to overhaul the front suspension and steering linkages, so I got the 1972 Plymouth Chrysler Imperial manual from rockauto. The book states that it covers my Duster. However, when I look through the book, I notice that the duster is almost never mentioned. For the suspension chapters, only the Fury, Valiant, and Imperial are covered. Is the Duster mechanically the same as one of these other models?

I appreciate the advice, I am brand new to working on pre 2000 vehicles.

Do yourself a huge favor. Go over to MyMopar and download the 72 Plymouth factory service manual. There are few things except cosmetics/ body that are specific to the Duster/ Demon bodies

Mechanically, the Duster is nearly identical to the Valiant. Where there are differences, for example the doors or quarter glass, the FSM will include directions for each.

Just be glad you don't have a 1967 Barracuda — the factory left it out of the manual all together. They issued a dealer service supplement to cover the differences later, but it leaves a lot to the imagination.

Sounds like you may have the C body service manual instead of the A/B book.
