another one of those "coincidences"

i was out running some errands yesterday when i got a text from my wife, asking if i could pick up an ice cream cake for one of the girls at her job because its her birthday

it just so happened i had about 15 minutes to kill and i was literally down the road from the ice cream shop i always get them, so why not ?

so i run through the drive through and tell the girl what i want, and ask them to put "happy birthday Ashley on it"

(i happened to have the girls with me so i got them an icecream too)

then i just dropped the ice cream cake off in their break room and went on with my day



several hours later, we're sitting by the fire and i ask my wife if anyone had any comments on the ice cream cake (normally i get them oreo, but this time i went with a turtle so i was curious if it went over well)

the wife told me the girl who it was for had come to her with tears in her eyes and asked if my wife was the one who picked out the cake

then she went on to tell her how before she got to that job, she used to work at a nursing home, and her and one of the residents had caterpilars and actually "raised" butterflies

that lady has passed on, but butterflies will always be connected to her, and every once in a while God will send her a butterfly as a greeting from her
so when she walked into the breakroom and saw that cake, with her name on it, and a little butterfly, she was just elated

so i turn to my oldest girl and i said, tell your mom what the lady said when we picked up the cake

and my girl goes, she said she fancied it up for us and even added a little butterfly

so somehow, the lady who wrote "happy birthday ashley" (not knowing anything else about her) decided to add that one little detail that totally made her day

I was expecting "Happy birthday Assey" or some such. lol

it was one of those things that only a Christian would recognize


one thing i dont think i was clear about, it wasnt a drawing of a butterfly either, it was a plastic one so she could have taking it home
