I have a stroked 440 to a 508 with a F2 procharger. Have a high flow water pump gutted the thermostat. 50 to 50 antifreeze. Aluminum dual 1 inch core Radiator with 2250cfm fan with shroud and can go over 5 miles before it overheats. Any ideas?
 
Without seeing any photos I would say that your shroud is too closeto your rad core and it is flat so the air at road speeds can't move.

And the opening for the fan is the only substantial opening in the shroud.

At speed not enough air flow through the radiator, blocked by the shroud, at idle not enough CFM from the fan.

Photos would confirm or disprove my theory

I had a radiator with no shroud and 2 fans and still the same problem!
 
If it takes 20 min to overheat at idle, that isn’t a very big problem (at idle). if it really takes that long to overheat just at idle, your fan is probably working pretty well.

What are you calling overheating, a certain temp or cap venting?

I know this is probably stupid, but is the fan pushing the right direction? Sound like your biggest problem is driving, which is likely an airflow problem, as said above.
 
Would also help to know what diameter your crank and wp pulleys are. If wp is spinning too fast, the coolant may not spend enough time in the rad; too slow and you're not pushing enough coolant through the engine... it's a fine line.
I also don't like the statement "gutted thermostat"- the symptoms you describe (if I'm understanding you correctly) are typical of not having ANY coolant restriction (t-stat, restrictor discs). You need to get a good quality HIGH FLOW thermostat in there.

BB A bodies are notoriously finicky about cooling- and you added 68 cubic inches and a supercharger (=even MORE heat) into the mix.
 
Are you sure temp gauge is correct and are you positive coolant is flowing. I had the same issue till i figured out gauge wasnt reading correctly. Used laser thermometer and then installed new gauge.

It will go to 225 230 then shuts down.

There is a difference between my gauge and computer of around 10 degrees. I took the heads off to see if the gaskets were flawed but haven't seen anything there!

The engine compartment is definitely full! I do have a Hemi style hood on it also so hot air can escape easily!

I was having this problem with a new build and advanced a timing and solved it...

Tried that too! It's mind boggling! I've tried everything I know and what others have suggested. Frustrating! I just want to drive the hell out of this beast!
