Hi all,

My project Dart Sport had a Grant aftermarket steering wheel and I want to replace it with an OEM 3-spoke wheel. Is there a trick to reinstalling this wheel? I've lined it up properly, but can't seem to get the wheel on to where I can even engage the nut to tighten it down. I haven't done this before with a classic car, so is there something I'm missing or just keep plugging along?

W/o pics, I assume there is adapter to remove before the OEM shaft is exposed and ready for a new OEM wheel.
 
There's a key spline on both the wheel and the shaft that need to match up so the wheel will slide on. All remnants of the Grant wheel must be removed first. Usually, that means an adaptor/horn contact assembly too.
