#1 are these old Eldelbrock filters any good? #2 what looks better, the pie plate or the Edlebrock? Oh, but wait, the hood will not close with the Edelbrock filter. Bum me out, I like the way it shows off the intake and carb. I don't know there is a hack to make it fit.

Triangle mesh have been known to catch fire during a backfire.

Fire starters, but they look cool. The original “fly eye” is the one to have made by Stelling. Good luck finding one. Your better off going with a 14 inch K&N.

AND I think the pie-tin setup looks much better, JMO....

It's not just the fire either. Over time just being exposed to gas melts the filter and it drops little pieces of foam right into the engine. ...and then there's the fire thing. lol

pie tin looks the cats ***.

leave the bermuda triangle to the hot rod crowd with their billet BS and polished egr valves.

From personal experience, take that Edelbrock piece of **** directly to the trash can and deposit it there. I nearly lost a car because one of those gasoline sponges caught fire. BAD BAD BAD!

Get that Edelbrock off sooner than later. I had one on my Camaro in the '80s and it caught on fire. This a well known issue now. Imo, they look silly too. Your other choice looks great and wont harm your ride.

Soooo I would guess the consensus would be drop the aftermarket junk. I'm more interested in guessing the year of that bad *** cuda. I'm thinking 68. Looking off the header panel.

I think the intake & carb compliment the pie tin, not the other way around. Use the triangle mesh unit (sans foam 'filter') upside down to hold small things in your part washer...
