Throwing in the towel - having trouble with the door lock rod on the blue mutt - 69 Dart passenger door - other than a little adjustment and everything sort of worn my passneger door locked/unlocked fine - but I decided to take everything out and replace the plastic clips, door handles, lock cylinder, etc. and clean up the latch assembly - also needed to measure the holes for the door lock rod to convert my 68 drivers door to a 69. Well it was a royal pain in the *** but everything is back together besides the door lock rod - I just can't seem to figure out how it mounts so it articulates properly to lock/unlock the door - the FSM is no help and after a good bit of searching haven't found a picture to show how it should go. Anybody got a pict of how it mounts in the door or instructions

The one on the right is the passenger door lock rod I took out that worked previously

Hemissdart - the other (driver) door is a 68 - doesn't have the lock rod which I am converting

4spdragtop - that thread helps - Thanks

CFD244 - from the looks of things I put the clip in the wrong hole on the latch - will check and see - hopefully its that simple

@ All - Thanks - good thing I don't do this for a livin - would of been fired for this taking so long

I know the door is a 68, what I am saying is the position on the other door will show you where it goes...

good and bad news

@ hemi - that was my plan - my problem was getting my previous working 69 reassembled correctly

So the picts from CFD244 help me figure out my issue - big thanks - I was putting the rod in the wrong spot causing bind and it just wouldn't work - pulled the plastic retainer out and put in roght spot - all is right with the world, at least for the passenger door. In my examining things on the table with the driver door parts I realize that the drivers door latch I bought has a broken spring inside and will not work - so on to the next endeavor of buying something else.

I plan on assembling the drivers side hardware on my table before install and will post a photo back in this thread for future reference to someone else who could likely end up like me.
