Here are a few pictures of the bolts (there are 5 of them) and the clips that they screw into and yes they are 1/4-20 bolts you use a 3/8" socket to remove and install. I hope these help you.

On another subject but in your pictures... looks like you have 2 sizes of Windshield Trim "Clips"...
The longer lower profile (Bottom nearest the corner) and the more square style.

This one being the longer and closer to the corner.
Question: Are there just 2 of these for the front windshield and the rest like the ones below?

And these being the more square but taller.
Are these everywhere else for the front windshield except the 2 closest to the corner on the bottom?

For Fastback cars, are all of the back window trim "Clips" the same size all the way around?
Are there some of each based on location in the widow frame?
Or are they all the longer lower profile clips like this one?

For Fastbacks, is there a mix of both sizes of clips?


DMT sells these as "Front Windshield Clips"
I suppose one could just see where they fit best and go from there.
Be nice to know if they have the correct clips and the correct number in their sets...

When I did new molding clips for my windshield what I did was took a guess as to where clips should go based on depth of screw hole.
Then I pushed rubber windshield gasket into place, no glass, and test fit molding. I rebent the clips to have less tension so molding snapped in but didn't require excessive force to get molding to seat. That way once glass is in you know for sure molding will easily snap in and fit correctly. Otherwise you might get glass in molding wont fit have to take glass back out.

I also bought a set of front and rear clips from Jim at DMT, his looked a lot more like the oem's that I removed from my 68. If I remember right there were instructions with the front because like you said the 7 green ones ( more square ) only go on the very bottom, dead center and then 3 outward from center each way for a total of 7 and all the smaller ones are along the top, sides, and the very first clip on the bottom on each side. Also the bottom clips do not always come green in color like the picture you have above from DMT, you can see that mine were black. I bought some clips off of eBay and they did not look anything like the ones that I bought from Jim. I have not installed my windshield yet so I really don't know how good they are going to work, but like I said they look a lot closer to the original oem clips so I am not expecting any problems. By the way you get only what you need, there are no extras.

I don't mean to rock the boat here. It has been several years since I had my dash out and my memory isn't what it once was. Having said that... I don't recall the 5 OEM bolts having the pointed nose shown in previous posts here. They were black coated machine screws with kept washers. Combination of 'U' nut bottom and sheet metal of dash the end of the bolt just barely reached beyond the threaded neck of the 'U' nut. I couldn't imagine it ever reaching the glass but I knocked off half a thread of the length at the bench grinder anyway. 16 years later I know it was all a waste of time. I'll never remove the dash again.
 
For those of you who are still wondering about the windshield and back window molding clips, I have finally installed both my front and back windows and the clips for the moldings were spot on from DMT no problems at all. I did buy some off of eBay first but after comparing them with the ones I removed from my car I knew that they would not have worked for the windshield. So trust DMT's clips and don't waste your money elsewhere.
