Dodge Dart Lite

It was all right here! :poke:

The OEM style seal is only to seat behind the cowl. It does not provide water tightness. ALSO the pivots can be adjusted in the cowl opening by selectively tightening or loosening of the lock nuts

I have had this happen a couple times with DMT. Some of their products don't fit right, and some are perfect

I read your article, it helped.
I also figured out with the grease in the shafts I should not have water coming in.
I worked the grommet down under the cowl, looks better now.

The shaft seal....
too loose? bad material? not thick enough?

did you ask DMT about it? I bought a flat seal and received an axel seal. DMT was Johnny o the spot, shipped me the correct seal and sent me a mailing envelope to return the wrong part. Both parts resembled each other

No where close to being the correct inner diamerter for the shaft.
If you look at the picture you can see it just falls off and on.

You saw what I had to do to get mine on, I bet they were the wrong part shipped in the kit.

First off I would like to thank Mr. Fillmore for contacting me.
I would like to publicly apologize to him and the whole DMT crew.
They produce many GREAT products and our hobby would be in trouble without them.
And they stand behind their products.
I should have contacted them and they would have corrected my issues.

I guess all the issues I have had with other suppliers and getting very few good results have conditioned me to just accepting the shortcomings and working around them.

Detroit Muscle Technologies is a very good company.
Will I buy their products again?
YES,

Thanks again James.

All that wasnt required but it sure does make the LONG HOURS a little more "worth it". Thanks. IF theres an issue let me know. I'll take care of it (within reason) :)

I remember I bought some engine paint from Eastwood. They sent Chevy Orange. I called. They said give to a Chevy friend and we'll ship the correct paint today. I'll was shocked. Mistakes happen but they HANDLED it. Never forgot that. I buy all my engine paint and that kinda stuff from them.

I just bought a pair of jetski lifts. Went to assemble last weekend and (2) 6ft arms that hold the jetski were missing on one of the lifts. I unloaded the truck and signed. Was one big pallet, (2) 15ft rectangular vertical poles and only (2) arms - should have been 4 . I didnt know and didnt have a stocklist. So not sure if company didnt send or truck driver forgot. I called trucking company and they said "YOU SIGNED". Nice. I called the manufacturer. They said, "we'll send 2 more arms". I about fainted. That doesnt happen to me. Thought sure I'd be paying $500+ for arms and trucking!

I had a great discussion with Mr. Fillmore.
Super nice guy and a great business to deal with.
Thanks Jim.

I ordered all my front brake stuff from RockAuto.
I know, I know, but NAPA didn't even have half what I needed.
And Auto Zone was just as bad.
It all showed up pretty fast, and shipping was ok, but some boxes got beat up pretty bad.
The master cylinder, Raybestos, now in bankruptcy, was half open.
There was no little rubber lock/anti rattle part for the brake push rod in the box.
Of course you can't call RA so I filed a claim.
After that didn't work I asked for a partial refund so I could go find what I needed.
They approved $20, and put that back in my PP pretty fast.
So that was ok.

DMT sells what I need for the push rod, so I didn't have to spend a week looking for one.

The calipers have a $5 dollar core charge.
So after going through that AI nut roll, I declined the "Discounted Shipping" option to send them back.
Maybe I will find a kit and try to rebuild the original ones in my spare time.

NOT.

Rant over.

Stupid stuff, why?
This is the firewall disconnect.
It was fine the way it was, now it takes 2 people to take it out.

Then this is the throttle cable, looks like some GM Crap.
There is a little strip of metal under the upper clip.
Why?

Brain Surgeons?
I don't get these changes.

Well I found one part that was not trashed on the Lite.
The heater fan motor still works.
I guess in Arizona it did not get used much!

I put the heater box back together with the DMT kit.
Lots of good parts in the kit.
Feels good to have that done.
I need to work the drivers side air box next.

These were paint marks on the passengers side (drinkers) of the block.
I understand these were marked per some measurement in the machining process.
HEMI guys have a chart.
