Well I will aplogize in advance for the many dumb threads I will start. I am VERY new to the Mopar game. I lost my best friend last May and well he was a die hard Mopar guy. He had 3 a 90ish pick-up (which his mom has now) a 1971 Challenger (which I think at this point has been lost due to some shady "friend") and last but not least a 1970 Dart Swinger (which was his car in high school and I now have). His family was gonna crush the Dart. I said I would take the car and build a drag car out of it which is what he planned to do with it. Now I know NOTHING about Mopars. I know I have a garage full of Mopar parts that I got out of his garage that I will post up for sale or trade soon. I thank you in advance for answering my many lol questions. If it helps tolerate the stupid questions I own a 1999 Trans-AM WS6 :-D (stupid GM guy). Thanks Tony

R.I.P. Manny

Sorry for the loss of your friend, You will find that this web-site is full of good people who are always eager to help. One example is a fellow member has started an auction for another due to him becoming ill! You find not only are Mopar vehicles enjoyable, so are the people who drive them. I would bet your friend was that way too!

Welcome!

Welcome to FABO!! Hope all goes well for you here, there is more info from the guys here then you can shake a finger at so start asking those questions.

Mike

Sorry for the loss, but im glad you got the dart. I have a similar story. My best friend growing up from pre-school throughout college was killed because he fell asleep driving one night on his way to work. Not wearing a seatbelt! He was thrown from the truck & died instantly, And the bad thing is my dad was the 1st trooper on the scene. Anyways, he had a 67 cheby S/W that he just loved but it needed work & it was always his dream to get it fixed up. Well after he died his family was going to crush it as well. His younger brother raised all kinds of hell & got the truck & its now a fully restored 67 chevy truck.

You will like it here. This is a great site!

Glad to see you on FABO. Sorry to hear about your friend, but I bet he's up there looking down and he's gald to see you saving the Dart.
We welcome all kinds of car guys here!

Thank you all for the welcome. It was a year on May 4th so I figured it was time to get started. Roll bar ordered, the 340 dropped off to the machine shop, wheels and seat ordered.

7172 Duster yeah I saw you run down there too. We get out of town on Derby day lol . You had to run ol 2 ton huh? lol I'll look you up next time I see your car out at the track.

I'm also sorry for your loss. It's never good when you have a bud pass on.

Being your a GM guy, the hoard of question that may come are not a problem, at all. Just understand these old cars are just the way they are and thats the way they did things back then, as weird as it may be to you. Something will probably have you scratching your head. LOL

Everyone has started out knowing nothing at one point, gotta start some where sometime.

Welcome aboard!

Dang ,wouldnt your friend be proud of you now. lost one of my best friends a few months ago. still avoiding helping his wife price and dispose of his collection. Makes it too final. Youll like it here.Glad you found us.

We're glad to have you and your Dart aboard Manny! I'm not that far away from you either (northwest Tennessee). I'm sure your friend is beyond proud of what you're getting ready to do with the car, as we all are! We hate to see them crushed, and it's commendable that you're moving forward with his dream. You'll find all the help you need right here. :-D

I'm in the Paducah area. Keep up the good work ,your friend would be proud ,and he wanted you to be a Mopar guy !Thank the Lord for friends, past {memories},present and future !{The new ones you have here now!}ED
