Hey gang... So.. when I first converted the Dart to V8 I ran the car alot with the headers open (no exhaust in fact) whenever I had to move the car, etc.. when I finally got the exhaust done, I loved the sound.. although my girlfriend said the car was too quiet (trust me its not quiet) lol.. My girl is definitly a keeper, she says she loves the sound of open headers.. I didnt want to have to be under there disconnecting the pipes, plus just out of general space issues, its not practical to uncork the the headers and hang the pipes.. So I bought a set of cut outs from Summit.. they are not electric.. I will have to take the 5 minutes to take the plates off.. but who cares.. She'll get that sound she likes LOL

My question is this.. instructions say to place them directly behind the headers.. now I havent done any test fitting or major math here yet, but these things are 12" long overall.. collector + cutouts may put me at the torsion bar crossmember.. Is it necsesary to place them RIGHT behind the collector? any advice, or pics of other members applications would be nice. Thanks all...
 
I have a 4spd and mine will not fit directly behind the headers. I have TTI's, I got the electric cut outs with the down turn pipes. The solenoids will hit on mine if I mount them too close to the flange on the headers. FYI........

Be glad you didn't go electric.. I got one on my Dodge Ram .. it works but I have had problems with it. Don't buy QuickTime products!

I don't see why you have to have them right behind the headers... I would try to get them as close as possible BUT fit good.
 
Looks sweet abodyjoe...........my solenoids will hit the subframe connectors,so I need to hold mine back just a little bit more than yours.
 
Surely someone else has cutouts on thier cars LOL .. any more pics or suggestions gang?
 
I have an X pipe on the Duster. I put the cut outs after
the X in the exhaust. Before the mufflers. Mine bolt like
yours. It only takes a couple of minutes.
That way you get the full effect of the torque with the X.
