72 340 Rebuild

-
can I jump in here and ask whats the difference between a 72 & 73 factory 340 intake manifold/carb system since I'm having my TQ rebuilt?...thanks

hi, the 73 manifold has EGR fittings in floor of manifold, 72 doesn't. the 71 & 72 manifolds are same casting number. carbs have different part number, otherwise the same. btw, this combo on a stocker will run very low 11 to high 10's. just looked up E/SA record, 360 duster, 10.49@ 123.94, manifold is same style casting.

another dumb question, but can the EGR valves be pluged with any performance results?...thanks

I think this must have been the "availible" ticket, back in the day.. Maybe thats why my 69 340 had these on it. when I aquired it. but now-,, airgap and holley, ain`t goin back. But if anybody`s tossen TQ`s throw em in my trash can. heck I got to where I enjoyed rebuilding them, once a year or even less. Far as hood clearance. my breather nut is just- rubbing a hole in hood insulation. not hitting metal. and I`m using 1/2" spacer. 71 mani + quad set was @ same height. you would`nt think that, by comparing them. btw my car 67 cuda:-D

Feel free to toss the junk carb in a box and ship it to CT

Incorrect. Different casting numbers.
3512100 for 71
3614025 and 3671918 for 72. Theres also 2 versions on the 3512100, 71 intake.
