Does anyone still have one laying around? Talked to a fiberglass company and they could make a mold from a dash if there is enough interest.
Would have to settle on one dash but with fiberglass, could cover heater controls and extra pods easy.

It's very interested and even though I changed directions since RMD went defunct, I would be interested. Problem is, I doubt there is anybody that has an RMD just laying around.

I could draw one up in cad and get the template laser cut and do some welding. Figure we could only get them to make one mold, so need to see who is interested and what options are wanted?
Number of gauge pods? Sizes of pods? Heater controls? Glove box?

Initially I thought this looked like a good way to go but then they went out of business. Fortunately, BEA and PG Classics started repopping them and with a little bit of effort, one can make the newer aftermarket gauges fit just fine. For race only, I could see some demand. Of course, for both version, cost is an issue.

I would guess around $200 mark.
I really want a dash set up for 5" tach and speedo, then 2 5/8" gauges for everything else. I don't want heater controls and can cut my own radio hole in it. Make it full length, so people can mod to add glove box.
Remember this would be fiberglass, not alot of support to hold radios and heater controls.
I will not be making the fiberglass dash, or making any money off it. I talked to a well known company and they where interested if demand is there. I was really hoping someone had a RMD to so they could make a mold from it.
I have no problem trying to make a dash for a mold if a rmd doesn't appear.

What exactly are BEA & PG making, the entire dash ?
Just wondering.

I'm very interested.....

I need one that has the following: 68 DART

I dont care about heater radio or golve.....

I need: 6 holes,

Two 3 3/4" for tach and speedo

Four 2" for volt, water, oil, fuel

I wanted a Rocky Mountain dash insert for my 68 Dart. Then the guy went out of business. With the help of a good friend we made our version of it. It was an awful lot of work.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I didn't think the RMD units were that overpriced..................I bet someone with one would be too cautious letting it go and never seeing it again, myself included.

I too wanted a RMD but couldn't see putting that expensive a piece in My Dart. The problem comes from people expecting perfection and low cost .Our cars are all unique if you make a dash insert to fit perfect in one vehicle chances are it will fit poorly in another. And that's where manufacturers struggle .I intend to make My own dash insert when I feel My skills are up to the task. I have seen a couple of RMD dashes show up On C/L for around $500.FWIW .Best of luck with your project!

What made the RMD so nice was that the gauges were shrouded. ANYBODY can make a blank stock bezel and install their own gauges.

For me, it wasn't that they were too expensive, it's that the prices kept going up. Every time I'd have a few extra bucks, they were priced out of reach again.

You're 100% right. I've got one that's meant for my '69 Dart and it's not leaving to go anywhere but in the car when the time is right for it.

Was hoping someone would do it for good of the board.
The dash doesn't even need to be handled by me you could send it straight to fiberglass company.
If sent to me, I will put a deposit down until it's safe return.
Does anyone know where one is for sale? Might be able to buy one and sell it again after the mold is made. I will try and make one this winter if not.

68 rat rod, is this dash installed yet? if not can you email some close ups of the front and back side ? thats excatly what i want. my freind is a fabicator and says if he seen what i want he may be able to duplicate it . dgdr03@aol.com thanks in advance

If you can get them built, I want one. I was just looking for RMDs site. I didn't realize they had gone out of business.

Thanks
Gary
