Long story it was my dads duster he died before i was born, i wanted to fix it so my buddies helped me tow to my shop and we got it running in about 1 hour from sitting for 23 years . found out why it was parked now after we tore the motor down it had no rod bearing :O

my brother edited the video cause he is a *** clown lol

heres what we did to get it to run, it was crazy that it started after sitting that long un touched

1 2 litre mt dew bottle filled with gas rigged to a elec pump
changed oil
filled coolant
wd-40 cylinder walls
changed plugs

the motor is at machine shop now im just slowly getting parts to fix the rest of the car its pretty rough shape but has alot of sentimental value

Glad to see you got it running, but why would you chance throwing a rod throught the block? Is it the #,s matching motor?

That's awesome Mike. I Can't what to see more. I wish I could find my Uncles Duster and restore it. That car is what got me hooked on Mopars at a young age.

That thing sounds like the ants from the movie "Them" 1954. Congrats on getting it running =D>

How cool was that - that it started ! Too bad the rod bearing was trashed. Was this a 318 or 340 car ? Any pics of the motor after tear down ? It would be interesting to see more of your progress as time goes by.

I know what you mean about sentimental value. My old man had a 66 dart as well, (a 4 door), but I always liked the body lines on them and so now I have one, only its a vert gt.

That's pretty cool. Throw some mystery oil in it and good to go another 100,000 miles.

I just got one started like that myself, it was only sitting 15 years, changed the fluids and plug, poured gas down the carb and it fired right up, only had parking brake on one side though. That was fun.

Keep us posted, I would love to see inside pics of the motor as well.

Outstanding, another one saved from the crusher! Sentimental value is worth more to the beholder than almost any monetary value. Kudos to you. I too would like to see some pictures of the internal engine findings and more info as asked prior: original eng, what trans (seems like an auto), rear, miles, etc. etc.

Man that is one tuff motor, I sure hope my 72 will do the same. Been sitting 32 years without being started.
