After three years of bleeding knuckles,empty bank accounts and hiding parts from my wife i finally got to the track with the old 70s race car.Was it worth it ??? we all know the answer to that :profilel:

Engine is a 69 440 block stroked to 496, BCR ali main caps, manley rods ,Black diamond pistons making 14.1 comp,755 roller cam,Indy sr 650 heads stage 11 port.Frank Lupo 8 ,,verter with 4500 stall, 8 3/4 rear with 4.88 gears ,Strange shafts and spool.Super super stock rear springs,, stock frount end with 6 cly torsion bars.

Old school with a bit of modern power .,,,Had all sorts of trouble getting it hooked up .Just could not get them big old slicks warmed up .(could have something to do with my driving ???) best was 12.0 but the speed was 121mph .Not even scratched the surface of this thing yet .Need more seat time .....we have a saying in England ,,14 second driver in a ten second car,,Hope it does not turn out to be me
 
Holy smokes man you need traction help like yesterday with that combo. You have a 14:1 500ci beast with the small task of turning 4.88 gears with just a pinion snubber to battle against. Yeah I think without at least a set of CalTracs at the very minimum, the car is going to spin hard off the line.
Time to save a little more and make sure you plan for ladder bars, and wheelie bars as well once that monster hooks up.

Oh and I'm guessing that thing weighs around 3200 with you in it, You should be just into the 9's when you get it sorted out. Have fun hiding more parts from the Mrs.!

Great looking race car. It does look old school with the huge wheels. Good luck with it and have fun!
 
You've got an easy 10.90-11.00 in the car if you get it to launch.

Keep tuning on it.
 
nice! now its just some sorting out to do and your on your way to quícker times until you have to hide stuff from your woman again :)
