1965 Barracuda stock B/T driveshaft. The boot is torn....grease all gone....clunky noise are being noticed.

Can someone post a link for a shop in the MD area or atleast a parts supplier to get the shaft rebuilt.

OR; post instruction, part numbers or someone / some shop that can do the slip joint conversion.

Thanks!!!!!
Mike

I called some shop in California that advertised doing the slip joint conversion and they quoted me $ 500 plus shipping, I checked with my local driveline shop and they had the part on the shelf and charged me $160. I am in Idaho so that's not much help but any driveline shop should be able to do this for you.

You will also need the U-joint to transmission adapter. There is a Jeep part that you can use, but I don't know the number. I do recall the list price was over $100 for the adapter, but he sold it to me for about $70.

I recently had the whole thing done with American made parts for a bit over $400.

BTW, the boots are now available on e-bay. I bought one and it looks very nice...around $40.

4X4 shops do slip yokes all day, they also always have pinion shims in stock. B/T or Detroit are great and last forever if you can keep 'em sealed. Plenty strong too.
