No one has mentioned that wrapping headers causes the metal to rot much more quicky than not wrapped. Wrapping hold moisture too.

    2 barrel to 4 barrel

Definatly worth it starting with a stock 230 hp 9.2:1 cr 1969 Plymouth Satellite 318. Added an Edelbrock 1406 600 cfm 4 barrel. Lots of noticeable fun and acceleration with the added cfm and the secondaries. Night and day difference over the stock BBD 318 2 barrel. ☆☆☆☆☆

I do if they do some of the work getting there but tooting your horn when you have a big wallet does nothing for me.

    Cuts out going up hill.

Make sure the met rod pistons are free to move up & down in their bores. As you load the engine, the piston springs should push the pistons UP so that the thin section [ enrichening ] of the m/rods are in the jets. Could be a broken spring, rare.

Finally have this set of 2.08 Edelbrock heads done.

I tube and redrill the two common wall bolt holes on every head I port. With a 2.08 valve I’m at 334 cfm so far on a set of heads I’m working on for my duster. I could never offer a set like this to customers because of the time involved. The set I’m running now I did in 2008 and max out at 318...

My "new" '74 Duster- or why I need a project like a hole in the head

Right?! It's May! Really it's only a couple inches and it's going to warm right back up so it'll be gone in a day or two. Wasn't exactly motivational to get started pulling the transmission today though

    2 barrel to 4 barrel

To answer the original question, changing only the carb from a 2 to 4bbl [ & a 4bbl intake ], I agree with the others about 15-20 hp. Very little if any benefit at the lower end. However, using a high signal carb that has annular pri boosters like the Edel 500 AVS2 would would probably add some...

Making a car difficult to steal

I haven't heard of it being recovered. Probably overseas in some billionaires garage. Tell yourself whatever you like, but anyone that's spent any amount of time as a tow truck driver can pull your car straight out without any issues, regardless of the wheels being turned. I guess you've never...

    999 lock up wiring problem

towing isn't the only time you want to lock out the lock-up. Pulling a sustained grade at certain speeds would lead to the lock-up coming on and off and on repeatedly. The solenoid would prevent thi and there's no reason you couldn't actuate the solenoid with a switch. That's the only way my...

    My 340 getting 6 mpg

I see the ignorance of Newbomb Turk rises to the top in post #107 like cream rising to the top. Larger main air bleeds will lean the mixture, not richen it. Same dope blames the carb he has on the dyno because he does not have the jetting parts on hand to jet it. It's the carb's fault! As I...

Looking for the way of old school

The real 68 Hemi cars had deleted window regulators from the factory. All they had was a seat belt type strap that pulled the window up and snapped or fastened to the inside of the door. Did those cars even have door panels?
