    Nice work, Les!

What do I need and what do I don’t!

It isn’t bad due to age, the previous owner hacked wires up and I have a bunch of disconnected wires and connectors

What do I need and what do I don’t!

Hughes whiplash cam, edlebrock intake and carb is really the other things done to it. The reason for going MSD is simply because I hate carrying spare ignition and ballast
  5. RustyRatRod

What do I need and what do I don’t!

Probably not a good plan as ALL of that factory wiring harness is the same age. OLD.

Maybe if you tell everyone here what you actually want to DO with your car, you'll get some more useful answers.

What do I need and what do I don’t!

Probly a good plan! However I don’t have a big budget so I’m trying to do this 100% from scratch! Using what little is needed from the original harness

Yeah I understand that. Im going to need a straight jacket if I don't get any passes atleast sometime before the end of the season lol.

What do I need and what do I don’t!

We cannot answer that since you have the car THERE and WE cannot see it. My first question would be how is your 318 built and why does it need an MSD ignition?

    Nicks Garage 383 build

Not disagreeing with you, but I don't believe that any farther than I could throw an SD455 Trans AM. Those cars were big and heavy pigs with crappy tires and not built for drag racing. So they were quicker than a 69 1/2 A12 440 six pack 4 speed car? Yeah. My big old butt they were. lol

    Nicks Garage 383 build

That's right. They were a smog era engine. The FIRST year for the SD455 was 1973. What did they expect? LOL

Stop in for a cup of coffee

As long as we're on tire subject. I've been looking for new wheels and tires for my Express. There's a very useful tire size chart at TIRESIZE.COM, one drawback it doesn't seem to have a list of the LETTER sized tires as in G60-15s for instance. Chart contains the useful dimensions of the tires...

What do I need and what do I don’t!

If the wiring is trashed and nothing works, I would get a painless kit and rewire the whole thing. The bulkhead are a weak spot in these cars the wiring in the 70s wasn't the greatest. I'd just start over.

    318 Poly Flow Test

I flow all my small block heads on a 4.015 bore. Even my 360-1 heads that I run on a 4.100 bore.

    73 Duster build named Fred

When I missed a year for the first time a few years ago because of health issues I was probably as close to needing meds for depression as I ever was. My family doctor ordered me to get back racing the next spring. The rain earlier this season was messing with my head till I finally was able to...

    Spacing alternator bracket with washers

I got a 440 source aluminum water pump housing with the 440 source aluminum alternator bracket and spacer kit. The hole closest to thermostat housing required a lot of washer to get it to line up with lower spacer, is this acceptable?

    318 Poly Flow Test

But You really ought to be using the bore they were designed for, 3.91", a .030" over 340 bore isn't OE representative......to be accurate..

    Leaf spring Identity needed...

I don’t think my car sat any higher with the Hotchkis springs installed than it did with the 45 year old, worn out factory units. However, the spring rate is much better and it corners/rides much better. I went thru some pics to verify. The pic w/o center caps is with OE springs and with...

    Nicks Garage 383 build

I don't have any classics with modified engines, but Being an old guy that had many friends with 383 roadrunners back in the day were quite happy with them. In my experience 67-70 the cars of all brands ran competitively when evenly matched. , regardless of what any dyno specs from the...

I’m loving this valve grinder I picked up.

Whenever valve finish has been tricky, I just creep up on it & go slow with the handle, using Souix grinding oil.
