    Lost Ignition #2

Thank you this makes sense that the Blue and Brown are jumped directly without a ballast resistor. I am working with a non standardized ignition connector. I just realized that on the schematic that on the ignition switch side the wire colors are not oriented the same as on the harness side...

    Erratic gauges

My 66 Dart has a problem where the gauges will run at normal position for a while then will climb up about a quarter of the way and stay there. At that point, if I turn the lights on and off quickly, or the heater/AC fan, they will drop back down to their normal running position again for a...

    First Drag strip visit

My first trip to the drag strip was about 1975 or so with my asshole brother in his 71 Mach 1 Mustang at Keystone Dragway in Manitoba. Car had a 429 SCJ 4 speed and either 3.91 or 4.11 gears, with a Detroit locker, all factory. I practically begged him to race it but he wouldn't. I knew he raced...

    273 advise needed

What are the numbers on the AFB? Should be 3854s for 1965, 4120s for 1966, or 4295s for 1967. All will work well. Sounds like intake valves are leaking. Find TDC on the compression stroke and make sure the rotor is under the #1 plug wire. Double check your plug wire positions, VR1 oil is...

    Battery shorting killed all power

This is also why we have short box wrenches in the tool box. Doing this to a modern car is bad news bears.

    Power steering help

Hey everyone I’m restoring a 73 duster with my 15 year old son for his first car. I’ve already gotten so much help from people on here. I have another question. It has a 360la in it from an unknown year (guessing a late 70s). I’m gonna try to install a power steering pump , it has the box...

paint it. when it looks hammered *** in a few years, you'll rue the day you didn't. and you'll be kicking yourself when you're pulling it to clean and paint it then.

    Battery shorting killed all power

The firewall connectors on these cars are notorious for working loose, building up resistance, melting and even have caused fires. My suggestion would be to unplug the firewall connector(s) and clean the heck out of all of the brass connectors inside the plastic housings. It sounds like you had...

You say Yes, You say No

I'm unperturbed about the question. If I lived 'back east' where salt is on the roads for months I would be inclined to paint it. In the drought-stricken State of Jefferson AND being a fair-weather driver of my Body-A, why bother? What say youse? Thanks.

    Stripping methods?

100 % agree with this as someone who just got his car back after 6 years in two different body shop jails. Visit both shops you are considering and take a good look around. If either are disorganized, messy, ect. then DO NOT leave your car there. If you see cars there that are pretty dusty...
