    Vibration (worse) after 904 rebuild

Dampener is good. Only had the converter out during rebuild. Was "OK" prior. I am looking at possibly replacing. Checking Edge, Precision and Turbo Action.

    Vibration (worse) after 904 rebuild

I am running the Blueprint engines damper with the correct Magnum weight installed. After thinking about it I will verify the weight didn't somehow come off.

    Vibration (worse) after 904 rebuild

Hey Guys. I have been battling a vibration issue for a while now but had it almost beat and was only slightly noticeable around 70 MPH. This was done by driveline angle changes, u joint replacement and finally swapped out my driveshaft. I just recently had my 904 rebuilt and after I installed...

    A999 transmission slipping. Second time.

Update. I checked the flow in and out of the radiator again. Once again low flow back to the trans with good flow into radiator. I had back flushed it prior to install but did not check flow assuming problem solved. Bypassed radiator with external cooler with good flow in and out now but...

Yes. Drilled a drain hole in the converter and flushed then welded up the hole. The TC was the one I got with the transmission so different from the last.

    A999 transmission slipping. Second time.

Thanks George. Bands adjusted to spec. 4 and 2.5 turns. Lokar cable applying no pressure at idle. Will revisit adjustment procedure. After waiting for a tow was able to drive onto and off of flatbed. Drove around neighborhood and shifted fine at first then slipped in all forward. Reverse ok...

    A999 transmission slipping. Second time.

Hey all. Awaiting a tow. Figured I would get this out there. I've got a head scratcher here. Bear with me. My 904 went south (bands worn) so I got a used a999 from a friend, cleaned it up, removed the valve body and inspected. Adjusted the bands to spec along with cable kickdown. Test drove ok...

Anyone ever add a drain plug to a torque converter?

Pop rivet fits nicely but how do you get it to seal? Remove the middle and fill with silicone or just smear it and tap it in? I am assuming you are not using the gun and hammer it in.

Anyone ever add a drain plug to a torque converter?

Hey All. My 904 340 style converter has a drain plug in it. Nice. I am running it on a Magnum 360 and knocked the weights off of the converter. No issues there except you cannot drain it while attached to the Magnum flex plate but that is not the issue. I recently acquired an A999 and there is...

    999 lock up wiring problem

Sorry Guys but I am reviving this one. I have a late 80's A999 L/U transmission and converter to replace my 904 that needs rebuild. I do not have access to the vehicle it came out of. The 999 has the switch/sender/sensor as the OP shows in post #1. I would like to wire it up. How did this...

727 lokar kickdown cable installation help needed.

i have question about the kickdown cable initial set up. I have a return spring at the transmission lever holding it forward as well as throttle return spring. I can move the transmission KD lever rearward about 1/2 inch before I can feel the internal transmission kd spring give resistance. I...

904 Shift selector & kick down lever

Having a difficult time getting my linkage set up correctly on my 3 piece 360 airgap knockoff, A999 and AVS2. My issue is the hard angle and length of the short rod at the transmission. All this worked on my 904 that I just swapped. I also have a 1 piece down rod that I can try but don't know...

904 Shift selector & kick down lever

Mine had just the slide block and spring. No lock bolt. I swapped it out for a locking block with spring. Spring does nothing with the block adjusted and locked. Seems odd.

904 Shift selector & kick down lever

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the spring is on the slide style kickdown/pressure lever currently on my car is for? I noticed that the 1 piece downrod examples shown in post 7 are secured to the short shaft. I have the sliding style and can't get the pressure correct however I could use...

Aftermarket Oil pan with Automatic transmission heads up.

Pan was a Jegs 360 I purchased about 5 years ago. Not sure who makes them but it was kind of gold in color before I painted it. i did my own baffling/windage copying some of the Kevco design. .

Aftermarket Oil pan with Automatic transmission heads up.

Just wanted to save someone a headache. I put and aftermarket Oil pan on my 360 when I built it. Fast forward to install and startup with my 904. Loud screeching noise on initial start. Of course some puckering with fresh mill. Turns out the torque converter shield was contacting the flex plate...

904 Shift selector & kick down lever

OMM......Do you have a picture of A V8 4bbl throttle bracket? I changed my car over from a 318 2bbl column shift to 360 4bbl slap stik (B body). I made the original multi down rod work but want to make it right. I have the 1 piece V8 down rod and multiple throttle brackets but don't know the...

    Another 904 trans ID

Is that date from the 0251 number? Date isn't making sense because the dude said he pulled it out of a Cordoba or Magnum. Unless it was a replacement transmission. In that case not sure about which converter is in there. What would low stall be from the factory? Any idea? Thanks
