yes...what volt reading do you have (separately)...when the ignition is in run and when cranking the ignition

not sure why you have the voltage regulator tied in??? Never have seen that or mention of in my instructions.

check the voltage while cranking on BOTH circuits.

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

not just a constant....but minimum of a full 12 volts. The voltage will drop to below 12 volts on the "run" circuit when cranking. That is why you cannot just hook to it. And the cranking circuit is only hot when you are cranking the ignition. That is why they need tied together.

I just put a 6al on my silver Duster and Butch's red Duster and have 2 tied to dual crank triggers on the Butch Leal / Direct Connection Hemi race car. I love them. besides the 2-step rev limiter, you could weld with the spark.

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

and how is that working? the problem is as previously explained. If you put a meter on the red trigger wire to the MSD box, I would bet that either a) it is only hot when cranking or b) it is NOT maintaining a minimum of 12 volts while cranking.

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

a constant 12 volts is required all the time to keep the MSD box "alive". There are separate leads that go to the coil and separate leads to the distributor and a separate 12 volt "trigger" is needed to tell the box to "turn on" and do its thing.

PLEASE HELP IM IN DIRE STRAIGHTSNo spark MSD but test fine what am i missing!

the problem is the MSD box needs at least 2 volts all the time and our Mopar OEM wiring cuts or often deduces the 12 volts except to the ignition side when cranking. So if you tie into the cranking circuit as soon as you let the key back when it barks...it dies. to prove this run a hot wire...

    68 Dart Project.

Not the worse problem to have by a longshot and I wouldn't loose any sleep over it, doesn't look like it eats too much. I'm finding the price to duplicate what we built a few years back has increased considerably. Build back better my ***.

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

I think our A body Hemi cars are similarly equipped.....except I have A/C and P/S. Both stick cars but I bet mine is slightly heavier and a bit more streetable......so to even things out, I'll leave my A/C off. Whooompa!!! BTW...the carpet looks great.

Running / parking lights only use one filament, the second filament is for the turn signal / 4 ways. May I suggest , re-check / clean ground on the drivers side lighting harness. Now the fun begins just doing the little odds and ends at your own shop at your pace. Enjoy. once I replace my...

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

The reverse light bulbs they sell, while somewhat pricey, seem to shine brighter than my old OEM headlights. If you never drive at night you probably would not care, but driving home from that late evening cruise you can see again.

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

Easy on the hole-shots. My 50 year old spider gears spit the bit last Friday on my first (attempted) 1/4 mile pass in my Duster. Lined up, dropped the hammer @ 3500 (315 drag radials / 4:30 gear / 4-link) and with a track prepped for John Force (extra sticky), traction was not an issue. It bit...

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

I put the plug / play LED headlights and reverse light bulbs in my Duster and HemiMarks Demon. Easy / peasy....and WOW! are they bright. They plug right in to your OEM harness with zero effect on charging system. They have a relay built into the new harness that tucks easily behind the headlight...

    12:05 Garage- ’70 Duster build

The mounts were designed with a small block 727 attached plus a 3/16 spacer....and the OEM transmission mount dead in the center of the crossmember. Everything was a give / take as to front / back and side / side but that is why the HDK mounts allow adjustment.....for the optimum placement for...

Summits wholesale division / Atech invited it's customers to free track time (9am-3pm) yesterday at Norwalk Raceway Park....so Brother Weeb and I drove our Dusters for some fun. Only about 30 cars there when we arrived so we headed right to the staging lanes. We lined up side by side....let the...

    Bending a sway bar

We bend them from time to time. In a batch of 50 Helwig bars they can vary up to 1" in eye to eye and anything off more than 1/4" will get "adjusted". Fog, the HDK fab guy, uses his hydraulic tubing bender. if you never try....you may never know.

I agree, never been a fan of fuel in the trunk. it is fun to build something like this I always learn a few things for the next one. Right about the small brakes on the big diameter rims, but just cannot get my old school head around the 19" and 20" rims on our 60 and 70's hot rods. Guess I'm...

A body with an A833 and a Gear Vendor installed

Installed a GV in 2009 when this Hemi Duster was built. I would do it again, a simple toggle on the right front of the bucket seat brackets engages the overdrive for highway (over 55mph) driving. 29.75" tall rear tires / 4:30 gear / 2450 rpm @ 65mph....the sweat spot. The split shifting isn't...
