    273 Rocker Arm Oiling

Cool. I was trying to find those for him. All I found was Mancini ones for 169 bucks. I don't see what size the cup balls are on those though. Mancini sells both 5/16 and 3/8 balls for the same price. I didn't see what size balls the PRW has though. Maybe I missed it? I said balls. A lot.

    273 Rocker Arm Oiling

they used an interference/tapered fit. if you need to replace a few, it's my personal opinion to replace the whole set with new adjusters that have lock nuts. it's more work, but i think it's a worth while upgrade. here's a link to a kit...

    273 Rocker Arm Oiling

Ok. Fair enough. In some of your other threads though, this is the case. Sorry if I confused them. That said, are you going to question and argue with post #5? It shows so clearly a blind man could figure it out, yet you still question. The oil seeps through the threads. They are interference...

    273 Rocker Arm Oiling

Question: How does the oiling of the pushrod ball stud work on the 273 rocker arms? I have inspected mine and don’t see any path that the oil can get through. There is a hole in the rocker arm yes. But the adjuster has some sort of interference fit with the adjuster screw. There is no channel...

I get it, but repetitive curiosity is bullheaded. Especially when you have multiple people telling you the same thing and you keep asking/arguing. We're not gonna steer you wrong.

My curiosity isn’t being bullheaded. It’s how I learn. Without curiosity there is no knowledge…..

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

i agree, the published numbers are all over the place. different sources, and almost no two are the same. there's no definitive proof one way or the other. ****, there's hardly proof on what the actual specs are of the 68 4spd cam or a bunch of the MP cams from the 70's & 80's. i'm hoping...

Well, at least by post #10 we get to know what carburetor you have. God forbid you bless us with any more info.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

Post #40 also listed cam specs. And look at the torque and hp peak RPM’s for the ‘79 E58 and ‘78 EH1 I listed in post #21. They are just too way off to make sense with the 340 auto cam. ‘75 and ‘76 listed an E58 engine with a high performance cam, that had similar peaks the the ‘74 E58. But...

Rear Drums Only Free in Reverse Direction?

Keep in mind too that the rear drum brakes are designed only to brake going forward. This is why there's a front (short) shoe and a long (rear) shoe. So it's perfectly normal if you have the shoes adjusted up that the wheels will be more difficult to turn going forward. More difficult is normal...

    And go....

He's wrong about that. Melling makes lifters and most other engine parts here. This is from their web site. All of the lifters I just bought for a friend's 283 Chevy have "MADE IN USA" on the boxes, as well as the set I got for my Ford 400 a while back. "Melling serves the global...

    1965 Offenhauser 273!

I spoked last night with Offenhauser who will give it a try to get more input. Found a story in a motor magazine about a Dart Charger 273 built by the owner for drag racing. That decal on the front fender, could that Racer brown camshaft been added by Offenhauser.......? We'll see next week.

    And go....

I didn't read 36 posts. Mike Jones, aka Cam King & renowned cam grinder said a while back that the FT lifters are made off shore, only one company making them in the US. This week on Speed talk he said he has Chebby lifters.....for $320. So if you are getting lifters for much less.....they are...

    crank no start

So, no ign box, just a bal res? That would be correct for 1967....which is: ign coil, points & condenser. I would start by replacing the points & cond.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

post #40 lists a 650cfm TQ which never existed. but let's say for the sake of confusion that it was meant as Q-jet. there again, 404 no such carb found. it also lists the E58 as 8:1 which, while true, isn't the whole story. some were 8.4:1 depending on year and motor code. i'll buy that an...

    Power bench seat

Anyone have ideas on what modern car I could take a power seat track and make an A body powered bench seat. I know such thing is possible because when I was younger I saw a 71 dart that someone had a power bench seat but I didn't think to ask what parts they used. Seeing that car like that...
