Looks like you are about 45 minutes from my place in Rush City, depending on your actual address. I bet you'll be at the Frankensteiners show this Fall? Regardless, we should try to hook up sometime!

FABO Meet-N-Greet 2024 MoPars in the Park Stillwater MN

It was a great weekend. I had too many irons in the fire at once to be able to really sit down and relax with everyone though. I was there Thursday through Saturday and only sat in a chair one time for about 5 minutes. My knees are still a little soar from all the walking and standing. But I had...

FABO Meet-N-Greet 2024 MoPars in the Park Stillwater MN

I'll be bringing the 440 Van Friday and the Barracuda on Saturday. Stopped in Thursday to register and browse the swap area. Ran into some old coworkers from 25-30 years ago and it was so fun to catch up! Holy crap, have I been bustin' butt on both of them. better late than never. See ya'll soon!

    FBO plate over advancing

...badly as soon as vacuum was applied to the canister. Turns out the reluctor gap was closing up as the advance was pulled in. She sure drives nice now with 22* initial and 34* total. I haven't mapped the curve yet but I used the lightest springs. Ready to cruise it Mopars in the Park this weekend!

    FBO plate over advancing

Gonna give this one a shot tomorrow. Should be 6 degrees, according to the charts. Got it all back together with a good new Carter fuel pump and just fired it up quick. Fuel pressure is back up where it should be. Time for bed now but will check the results tomorrow. I'm sure it will be much...

    FBO plate over advancing

I purchased mine through his ebay page, so I'm able to return it. I provided an explanation of my results

    FBO plate over advancing

Well, I fired mine up with the new FBO limiter plater plate set at the lowest level, 10* of crank advance and... it produced 16* with no vacuum advance. I had the idle set at 24* and it shot up to 40*. There you have it. I'd say it doesn't do what it says it will do, with any kind of accuracy...

    FBO plate over advancing

Well, I just installed and FBO plate in my dizzy with the intent to limit it to 10* of mechanical advance on my 340/416. I went with one light spring and one medium, based on threads I searched here. It's bedtime now but I'll fire it up tomorrow and set/check the timing curve & play with the...

My 68 Cuda Trunk Trim from Steve Clair Young

I see a guy from Mexico but lives in Houston, I think, (Rene Garcia) in a couple of facebook Barracuda groups who seems to do outstanding polishing/restoration work on these parts. Anyone ever hear of him? It also seems there are other people who steal and use photos of his work to lure...

My 68 Cuda Trunk Trim from Steve Clair Young

Just put the round tube in a cheap rectangular box, problem solved! That said, I had him do my grilles years ago and it was a big improvement, but not stellar for sure. The clear is peeling and it was black stripe tape which started peeling right away, instead of paint. ALWAYS stored inside out...

    408 ignition curver advice

I have the original distributor that came with my car, which I had welded up the slots to limit the advance before the engine rebuild to a stroker, though I don't remember what that number was. I may end up revisiting that setup before all is said and done. I believe that one has a vacuum can...

    408 ignition curver advice

I read through your thread a few days ago (great info!), as I'm gettin' back into my ignition and timing curve stuff again. I'm sure you remember chatting with me about it a couple years ago, which I greatly appreciated. Man, did life ever get busy and crazy and challenging for a good long...

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

UPDATE: I got my car back together and took it for a couple of drives today. The 2-3 shift overlap is GONE! I also did many other things to the drivetrain while I had it out and I'm so happy with the results! Next on the list this week is to install a distributor re-curver kit from FBO Ignitions...

FABO Meet-N-Greet 2024 MoPars in the Park Stillwater MN

Looking forward to seeing everyone! I've been doing a ton of maintenance stuff/upgrades to my car and finally just got it fired up again tonight! Test drive tomorrow and hopefully, she's road-ready for the show. I've got a ton of shop clean-up to do, LOL. When is everyone planning to arrive?

    Picture of your hood

I like it I always wondered how that works and looks with the engine offset, especially on our cars with the hood inserts so close to the center. Flipping the carbs around makes sense for linkage clearance. Curious, how does it look with the scoop on from a straight-on photo in front of the car...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

right now I have 3.73s but I'm also building a 4.56 and a 4.10 center section. Options! The 4.56 will drop to a 3.54 in overdrive and the 4.10 will drop to 3.20. I think the 4.10 will be my main choice.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Should be able to fire it back up later today with a little luck. Just needs plugs, Engine oil, trans fluid, brakes bled, driveshaft and new starter relay because the ground terminal threads stripped out. I also ordered a distributor curve kit from FBO Ignitions that should be here tomorrow...
