    Shake rattle and roll

If you are using an in-line fuel pressure gauge, fluctuations is normal, for elect pumps external from the tank. At least that was what I was seeing when I had one in-line. However, the engine ran like it should have. I took mine out and have not had a issue since. 5 years +.

    Shake rattle and roll

Had 1999 Dakota R/T . After two motors w/cam, headers complete rebuilds : neither ever ran to capability. Sold it:( Answer: CAT, they were clogged. No codes. If you have an old CAT, check for flow, not emission crap. Actually, check the entire Ex system.

    Shake rattle and roll

Went through the same mess that you are experiencing with a stock Magnum serpentine set up on my Dart. Bought three H. balancers before I got the one with multiple weights that actually worked. Do not remember which one was correct. However, since it was made in China (GAG) the crank hole was...

    Pulley question

Serpentine Magnums do use a water pump that is reverse of LA's. Keep it all the same.

360 magnum swap in 68 barracuda

Lastly: The water pumps for the magnums turn the opposite of the LA setup, due to the serpentine system. Be sure to get the correct one either way you go.

360 magnum swap in 68 barracuda

Not attempting to change your mind, just showing what the serpentine set up looks like. This was from a 1999 5.9 Dakota R/T.

360 magnum swap in 68 barracuda

I have a non A/C bracket from a Gen 2 Dakota, if needed. When I built the Dart I used all of the pieces from a 1999 Dakota, with A/C. No power steering. It works perfect. Look up though my avatar and you can compare. Good luck with whichever way you go.

Magnum motor with Mechanical fuel pump ?

The stock magnum water pump(serpentine) turns the opposite of the LA with pulleys. Not really an easy change. I have used the same 12 volt pump for 5 years with no issues. Good luck either way you go.

Fresh mill. Bad happenings? What to check for?

I will go out on a limb here: You stated a 5.9. Is it a Magnum or an LA? The water pumps rotate in opposite directions. Be sure you have the pump for "that" motor.

    LA Intake with Serpentine Setup

Looks like you have it covered. Old school: A cut here a cut there and it works If anyone else is looking for a factory alternator mount without the A/C section, I have one.

    Timing chain guides?

I had two Magnums built over the years: One with the tensioner, one without. Made no difference. Your call.

Early A magnum to core support clearance

I run 26" stock replacement 2 row rad for my 75 Swinger with a electric fan that I ordered for 99 5.9 Dakota( now sold) . Have a March under drive pully on the water pump, and run a 3:91. At 75mph @ 95 degree outside temp it stays between 180-195 with the AC on. Be sure the shroud fits the fan...

Early A magnum to core support clearance

Never measured, just put an electric fan unit. Plenty of clearance for that.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Magnum wiring harness and, have nothing to put my hands on to help. Your are not the first person to have this issue. Someone knows the connections. Stay after it.

360 magnum swap stock efi wiring help wanted

I have a diagram I made from my 75 Swingers factory manual, when I was going through the wiring. It identifies the alphabetized location of each wire from "outside"(the fire wall) and from the "inside". And, it shows the color codes, and where each wire connects to. Each year when there were...

Confused what to do with a 5.9L serpentine setup

I would consider having a shop modify the corner of the valve cover for the clearance you need. As you can see on the Mopar performance piece, that is what they did for production of that valve cover.

Confused what to do with a 5.9L serpentine setup

Old rule of thumb: If you modify (custom valve covers included) anything during a build, you will have to modify 5 more things to make that one work. Looks like that still holds true. I used the Mopar Performance valve covers and I guess that is why it has the notch in the corner. Stay after...

Confused what to do with a 5.9L serpentine setup

I do not understand the issue with the terminal being too close to the valve cover. This photo shows a completely stock set up from my 99 5.9 R/T, which is now on my 75 Swinger. The bracket has a boss that spaces it out 1" from the head. As you can see the terminal clears the valve cover with...

    Project Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: 273 - > 408 Magnum Swap

I installed a/c and had to move the radiator back an inch. So I understand your issue. My car came with a/c so I found the stock rad on amazon. $150.00 less than Year One, same part #. runs at 180 @ 75mph with a/c on. As for yours cooling at a normal temperature (180 or so) you just have see...

    Project Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: 273 - > 408 Magnum Swap

Saw your video. Looks like you and your guys are having fun. Re crank alignment: You may have to go to an electric fan, and by it not lining up, is normal. Realize some things you will find and have already found out is "Some things almost fit".
