    NHRA BO29 information from 1968

I definitely defer to anyone who had one, but I’m pretty sure every state would be different on registering one. I have read the motor vehicle standards for 1968 and there is no standard that they don’t meet. There were not that many standards then. The reason given for their not being legal in...

    F.A.S.T at Empire Dragway 5/24/24-5/26/24

I had a very slim chance against this Hemi Road Runner. It is usually MUCH quicker, but it had a temp hemi in it. I cut an .035 and spun at the hit and had to pedal. to his .08? Which was all he had to do to drive out of my life. :)

Harmonic balancer tightening (crank bolt) engine in car with 4spd manual transmission

I was working on some small front wheel drive thing with a stick and had the same thoughts. “How much torque can that little crank take?” Just your mind screwing with you, the crank see’s incredible shock loads, far in excess of the torque rating of the motor.

    Turning torque for engine

Can you go into the afr graph and and add fuel, just say maybe 1 point. See if that stops the overheat. If it does, pull 1/2 point out. Still no issue? Leave it. The software is looking for a “number” the sensor may be consistent, but not exactly representative of a real number.

    Turning torque for engine

So, I searched “installed Holley sniper and now the car runs hot” there is a post on For B Bodies Only with someone had that issue. Johnny Mac posted and seemed to know the system well. You might reach out to him. He’s on here. I just read a bit of it, but the system might be trying to adjust...

    Turning torque for engine

In the other post, there is a diagram of the kit. It shows the pump turning clockwise. Coolant flow, as an example, my motor makes more heat than yours. I run the March underdrive crank pulley and a stock A/C water pump pulley, through a stock 340 radiator. They are pretty close to 1:1. So I...

    Turning torque for engine

Ok, found your other post and went through it. I saw that you thought you had a spring in the lower hose, the. determine did you didn’t. But I couldn’t find where you said you had put one in. Have you? My suggestion is, divide and conquers. Is it incorrect coolant flow or air flow or abnormal...

I think people worry about the surface finish requirements too much. Especially on a deck surface that is not freshly machined.

    Overheating on run stand

It’s not the pump, I’ve run the cast iron pump for 10 years 12.2 to 1 with four of the arms cutoff. It bumps off the thermostat.

    Turning torque for engine

High turning torque creating an overheat condition would have let you know already, it would have wiped the bearings and started knocking. I hate to say it, but I would go back through the cooling system and list every part. Any other signs it is hot other than the gauge?

The RA needs of the cometic gaskets is not crazy. I searched the conversion to sandpaper grit to get an idea. I would not coat them, I did once and it leaked a bit. Dry from now on. 340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Most of the aftermarket rockers have a groove around the inside. This negates the need for a banana groove. I wouldn’t condemn your rockers. If the shafts are pretty worn, maybe new shafts. None of this equates to you oil question. Don’t want to scare you, but having a rocker seize to a shaft...

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

The notches are an indicator of the location of the oil holes. Know the orientation of the oil holes themselves and you KNOW they are correct. If the oil holes are down and biased towards the springs they are correct. You don’t have to worry if your notch is a real notch or the notch was machine...
