The Bronze gears are a race only piece designed to sacrificially wear first. On our race cars we replace them every 50 to 75. passes or once a year whichever comes first. We do NOT run them on a street car period. A melonized gear is what is on our street cars.

In my elderly opinion I think the pins mainly located the rear end and the major amount of the retention is through the clamping force of the u bolts. They supply a bit of retention but not the bulk of it.

I replace the pins with Allen head bolts.

As long as you are even 1/2 way close on the perches you can use Degree wedges (Shims) to adjust the rear end when assembled. I would have them welded on 3 Degree down and adjust them from there when I assembled the car with your Superstock springs. I use wet towels and keep the housing cool...

Not a lot you can do on a small block. Try a heavier oil and perhaps put a aftermarket oil pressure gauge on your car so you can see how bad it actually is. You do not need a lot of oil pressure at idle but you need some!
