I'm using the common -1 head with some good porting and machining for the good TD rocker system. Just a misunderstanding because the way I short-handed my description.

Yessir...our local track Milan Dragway has a once a month (Saturday) "Heads-Up" race with about 5-6 different categories ...I'm doing All-Motor which uses NMCA NA10.5 rules. Ima sitting duck but I'm just trying to have fun with some friends and basically use hand-me-down/obsolete parts. There...

Thanks! There's probably a 130 in it I'd hope. Mainly the front end/bumpsteer making it as good as possible with as much Caster as possible with this junk MF aftermarket K kit.

I was able WITH HELP (mainly my buddy Jerry) to get the car out yesterday for some test hits on the new motor, trans and suspension settings. IT TAKES A VILLAGE. All footbrake passes, 32 degrees timing, old carbs untouched from the old motor. First pass after the burn-out from 'idle' it has a...

    My 'new' engine/trans

I have 2 4150 '1050' bodies and fancy baseplates to go on next. They have annular boosters so if switch to oxygenated fuel they'll lend themselves to that. 4500's would probably be faster but the hoodscoop and everything else is set up around 4150's.

    My 'new' engine/trans

No luck racing, I had several leaks. The valley on one bank and the inspection cover fasteners. While the intake was off saw that the TD stand bolts were leaking oil into the intake ports. Also, took the valvecovers off to check lash and saw severe moisture ..ooooof! Two 'dog pellets' and...

Well done, congrats on running well and the round wins. What was the DA?

    Anyone done a strong 400 build ?

If you plan to spray it then stay away from dual plane intakes IMO.

    My 'new' engine/trans

They are the old proform '750' bodies. The lid on the INDY TR has approx 1/2 raised mounting surface below that I have 1/2" Wilson anti-reversion plates which should be used on every line-of-sight intake that uses a carb IMO. I made my own spacer for the LID because the plenum is small and the...

I assumed you meant street and high durability. I stand by my recommendation it's all shelf stock as well.

    Anyone done a strong 400 build ?

    Where'd you go? Assuming you have a good block, I'd do minimal overbore and target 11:1 maximum. 3.91 Molnar crank/ 270 TF heads/ HS rockers/ 265ish @ 050 .680" net lift roller 108lsa/ Alloy caps and main studs/ partial fill block/ Indy 4500 intake with a good clean-up and a 1050 4500

So many racing friends lost over the years

Good stuff John! Yes I recall some of these guys. I think about death possibly a little differently, where I don't believe there is nothing left EXCEPT memories. Even some of us get occasional 'visits' which is a blessing. I'm remembering Randy "Labrat" from Moparts now. In my mind he too was...

    How much dyno corrected HP?

Thanks, this is ANOTHER reply I appreciate in noting there are many qualifiers. Would the motor make any more power with Holley carbs on a dyno? Separately, would the car be quicker with Holley's? Would the car be faster with a working hoodscoop and airpan? How good is the converter? Are the...
