I was able WITH HELP (mainly my buddy Jerry) to get the car out yesterday for some test hits on the new motor, trans and suspension settings. IT TAKES A VILLAGE. All footbrake passes, 32 degrees timing, old carbs untouched from the old motor. First pass after the burn-out from 'idle' it has a lean stumble on a dry hop 'test' so, I wasn't expecting much especially with 13.5lbs cold in the slicks. I put it up about 2500rpm, it hooked hard and just carried the front higher until i decided to lift as easy as I could but it still set down hard. After all looked good I rolled back into it to test out my alignment etc. Collected a 1.22 60ft/6.2x @ 105 and not sure where I lifted etc. But it went straight all the way like never before. Even the wheelie bars didn't steer it. I set the front shocks to full tight which was about 4 clicks. We looked over the car and motor and now I was as nervous as the first hit especially because the car in front of me wrecked. Again not sure I floored it and held it but it went 1.21 60ft and a 5.47@125+...i have all 3 runs on video I'll post asap. It was a GREAT day and outing/learned a lot.
