Who else ever felt this way?

Not in my yard. We need the rain.

Who else ever felt this way?

Yes, it is possible, but It doesn't have to be. I built my 66 Valiant to prove that point. Had the car at the track (granted not street legal) for a total of about $1500 (including buying the car). 1st weekend out (over 3 days) got the car in the high 13's. Currently have about $3,000 in the...

Who else ever felt this way?

A slant can be quick, also. My 66 Barracuda with a 170 slant and 3250 lbs went a 12.905 at 101.85 MPH through the mufflers. @Darter6 has seen that car in person. (ran against me at M-D) at time stamp 21.00 All depends what you want.

    Steve Magnante’s Old Valiant

I think the OP was referring to the "toad" Valiant. Don't remember the year (60-62). I think Dutra had a hand in building the all aluminum slant six. The car was white and had period correct lettering and decals.

Thank you, went to their website, and found a way to leave a good review on Amazon.

    Mopar Dealer "attaboy"

I bought a product through Amazon, but do not see a way to give a good seller review. I can review the product but not the vendor. I did a part number (4295875AC) search for the trans pan gasket used on the A-500 trans. Found parts on Amazon from seller Schaefer & Bierlein Inc. The price of...

    Whats wrong with this picture?

I really don't care what it is called. The major part of my post was to dispel the idea that it prevents rotation of the bearing. It does not. It just locates the bearing. The "crush" is what keeps the bearing from rotating.

    Whats wrong with this picture?

Only 6 days to go. Close enough. :)

    Whats wrong with this picture?

It is actually called a "TANG". It only locates the bearing, and has nothing to do with preventing rotation. The "crush" of the bearing in the housing bore prevents rotation.

    Valiants with V8s

"A" bodies were available with the 273 from 1964 till 1969. But a slant six can be a fun ride also. Have a few of them, myself.

    Buying a car without keys

Keys are not a big deal. remove the door panel, and the door lock, and take to locksmith (door and ign should be the same key, unless one has been changed). Remove rear seat to gain access to the trunk and open trunk from inside, remove lock and take to locksmith. Or if you don't want to bother...

How Could I Be So Stupid/Careless?

Talk about getting distracted. A friend called me up a couple of days ago. He installed a new 440/727 engine and trans into into his car, and tried to fire the engine. The engine would not turn over although the starter would spin. Three different starters same thing. I went up to take a look...

Sure do miss Good ole SUPER SHOPS. ---- Every Bowtie part you could ever want!

I thought I would give the "new" super shops a try, maybe about a year ago. They had my order all screwed up. I tried for several weeks to get it straightened out. Finally gave up. About six months later the billed my credit card for additional money. I did owe them that money (one of the things...

"Back in the day" I bought parts from VanIderstine speed in NJ. Loved their "midnight Madness" sales.

    supercharged "HEMI" six cylinder

Are you aware that Chrysler (or whatever their current name is this year) has a copyright on "hemi". They can use that word anyway they like. I don't recall which came first, but back in the (I think) late '40's there was an overhead valve conversion for the Ford flathead V-8. It was called the...

    supercharged "HEMI" six cylinder

It's not a "true" hemi. More like a "semi hemi". Just like the "new" Hemi's are not true Hemi's.

How many /6s in your stash?

Sort of a hint, but I can't post a "for sale" here. I do need to get rid of a lot of "stuff". Parts, incomplete projects, tools, equipment, etc. I'm 81 years old, can't do as much as I used to, and none of my family is into cars. Need to get the "stuff" into the right hands.

How many /6s in your stash?

I keep saying I'm going to "thin the herd". Then someone offers me a deal that is too good to pass up. But I will say I have had more time to collect parts then many others. I started in 1974. I wish someone would show up with a trailer of cash and leave with a trailer of parts.

How many /6s in your stash?

4 "A" bodies (not all with running engines) 2 trucks (one with the slant), 5 engines on stands, in various stages of completion. 6 Complete "core" engines. Lots of blocks, cranks, rods, pistons. Lots of cyl heads (stock, milled, and large valve). All kinds of pistons, ring sets, bearings, valve...

Slant six fly wheel and clutch on a 318?

One other thing is the diameter of the flywheel center hole. 67 and older slant six, and small block had a smaller center hole then the 68 and newer. Flywheel center hole needs to match the engine, or be either machined or bushed (depending on which way converting).

9 old tools almost nobody uses anymore

I don't have the adapters for my 88 Diplomat. Called all around the area to see if any one (including dealers) could aim them. Absolutely no one had a aiming machine. They all said they just "shoot" the wall.

9 old tools almost nobody uses anymore

Speaking of Hoppy, I have a "Hoppy" head light aiming setup. Don't have all the adapters, though. Would like to find them, at a reasonable price.

9 old tools almost nobody uses anymore

I have a lot of "STUFF", from the '80's, and '90's. Not really obsolete, as they are used on "our" cars, but not really usable on the new vehicles. 10 lbs of "stuff", in a 5 lb box. Been collecting tools and equipment for 67 years.
