Transmission mount with engine and mid plate.

I run a Hurst front mount (Basically a steel motor plate) and a mid plate in my Cortina. I fabled a trans crossmember for my glide (original owner had a Lenco in it), and use the softest transmount I could find. Just to help support some weight. IF engine and trans move (not f-ing likely) i...

    Roller lifter conversation

Solid or hydraulic roller? (I haven't seen that answered.) I rum crower solid body solid lifters with no oil band. I don't have to tube the block. .750 lift super stock cam in a max wedge block.

Father's Day Surprise - New Trailer

Thought maybe the wife bought it for Father's day. My dogs would buy me a trailer if they could. The gf, not so much. Congrats, nice trailer.

Wheel and tire suggestions for an early '80s D150

Easiest way to shop for wheels I know, is Summits website. Check out Aero wheels, and Basset. Wide steel Nascar style wheels are still reasonably priced, imo. And there are hundreds ,if not thousands of wheel styles for 5 on 4 1/2! Tire size recommendations depend ENTIRELY on wheel size and...

    Rear Versus Front Tire Widths

Itty bitty wheel spacers. Just don't buy the cast crap. Billet or nothing. Maybe I missed it, but.... Do you still have the 5 on 4" pattern? If you do, spacers will probably have to be for 5x100mm.

Longer rear wheel studs found, with part number.

Thanks. Hopefully helps others, I've got 3"studs in my cars that I drag race. I like those wheels. They look a bit like the 1969 recall wheels.

Any seen one of these before, or know if it was factory?

I still have a couple t-handles, I'm told one is quite rare (not sure I can believe that) and had an opportunity to use one on a couple,of stick cars I had a few years ago. I stuck with the knob on those too.

Went to Carlisle to see some GY3 Curious yellow cars….

I went to a 55-57 Chevy show, probably 30 years ago. I had (have) a 57 sport coupe, originally Sierra gold/Adobe beige (really, a copper penny color). Silver when I got it, I painted it a pale yellow and white. But I had decided to go back to the original color, so I was looking at sg/ab cars in...

I would have happily done that too, but the nearest Costco here, is a hundred miles away......

    What battery?

To tie this off: Bought a Duracell from Sam's for the girlfriends Dakota, and another for my Opel I hope the Opel buy wasn't a mistake. I wanted the Duracell AGM for the Opel, but I was told they didn't make the agm in the group I needed (75) We'll see how it does. It's replacing an 11yr old...

    Waterproofish car cover

You could also go with a cheapy cover from walmart, and a $10 tarp from Costco over it. Been there, done that, too.

The ship my uncle was stationed on at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941

The WeeVee was hit by (I think)six torpedoes, and was counterflooded so it sank upright, unlike Oklahoma. (Even Oklahoma was refloated. The only ones still on the bottom at Pearl are Utah and Arizona) It was refloated, rebuilt so extensively it was almost unrecognizable. And used its radar for...

    Waterproofish car cover

I bought a "motor trend" brand cover from walmart, at a discount price for the first one. So waterproof, water would pool on it. Very pleased for about $60 if I remember right. Easily tied on, won't blow off. So pleased, I bought two more for my 55 chevies. But yeah, best answer would be the...

Four Link Suspension, how does it work?

Especially helpful is a camera that enables slo-mo. And video from the driver's side if possible. (a real camcorder with a zoom too, please. No phone videos held wrong/stupid) And I was gonna recommend Kevin Wilson's you tube video's as well.

    First Drag strip visit

My uncle took my cousin and me to the old Irwindale, in his 65 mustang, in about 1967 or 68. I made my first pass there too, in a stock Vega, in 1971, nineteen something e.t. That Vega ended up a twelve second car, as did my 57 chevy. Twelves now are a complete yawn.

    73 Duster build named Fred

Kinda all depends on the track prep... but I love experimenting with stuff like that. And I LIKE 1/8 mile. Good thing, cause the nearest 1/8 is 1/2 hour, nearest 1/4 (other than Pomona, f@#k you, nhra) is four hours.

Any seen one of these before, or know if it was factory?

I agree with everybody else: it may be a factory stick, but the pistol grip is aftermarket. I made a pistol grip (quickly, and badly, lol) from scrap aluminum for my ratchet shifter that needed just a little more height, and liked it so well I made another for a different car, with a line lock...

I'd forgotten how ugly the Superbird really was ...

Given a choice of aero cars.....in order of my desirability. 1. 69 charger 500 2. Daytona 3. Superbird. I would not throw any out of my garage..... except the Daytona and Superbird. They don't fit, lol !

    15 inch 4 " (SBP) steel wheels ?

@65Vart, Jegs says they have 15x6 in stock, and can ship 15x7s 6/24/24. If you want em, better contact em soon, cause I suspect once there gone, they're GONE!

    15 inch 4 " (SBP) steel wheels ?

5 on 4 1/2 are dirt-common, (read Ford), they won't stop making them. 5 on 4 only fits 60 year old a-bodies, and a LOT of them have converted to the large pattern. Frankly, I'm surprised there are ANY 5 on 4 available at all! (That's kinda why I'm hoarding the 5 on 4 centerlines I've got!)...

    15 inch 4 " (SBP) steel wheels ?

Jegs shows 15x6 wheel vintiques 63 series 5 on 4" ready to ship Monday, and the 15x7 5 on 4" shipping on 6/24/24. If you want either of these, I WOULD CALL THEM ON THE PHONE, and make them put actual hands on the 15x6s, or confirm they can get the 15x7s, before I placed the order. They might...

    15 inch 4 " (SBP) steel wheels ?

Wheelsmith and US Wheel can make custom steel wheels.... but both exclude 5 on 4" on their websites. Do you have, or can get, some 14" centers or wheels, that you could have made, into 15s?

    15 inch 4 " (SBP) steel wheels ?

Pretty sure Mopar never built 15" sbp wheels. Aftermarket only. The only steel 15" sbp I think might still be available are 15x7 and 15x8/8.5. Try summit. Jegs might have them too, but their website is un-navigable. Nevermind summit. They show all stock steel style sbp, out of stock.

Like to hear from those who put a 3 in complete exhaust in a Dart (70) .......

Brooks, if you DO do the turndowns before the back axle, tip the turndowns TOWARD each other, at about a 20-30° angle. It smooths the sound, and pushes the exhaust out the back, instead of onto the ground, and blowing whatever onto the bottom of the car, or other guys cars. That's what I did on...

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

Well, the copy of the valve body without taking the originators name off of it WAS a huge screw up, and they'll pay for it, but chinese copy of other people's stuff is not limited to speedmaster. Pretty much anything with (my opinion only!) Jegs or Summits name on it will be a chinese copy...
